In Hawaii use this corporate code for Thrifty HT14004118. The prices will be untouchable. I will be in Maui on the 20th and it saved me a couple hundred dollars on a 5 day rental. Give it a chance. Krysto |

I have used them a few times in Maui.. Their service works great and you always get what you reserved. Wouldn't hesitate going with them... They also have special rates for underage drivers that helps a lot.. (Under 25) |

When it comes to Car Rentals, Priceline has always trumped all these coupon combinations from the Dealer direct.
Right now I'm searching for a 1 month rental March 20- April 17 from Chicago. All Hertz codes are useless except the CDP one. Combining codes (CDP, Xq, rzasjdb, blah!) just brings the price up!? Also, be aware airports usually charge ridonkulous fees & taxes. Chicago MDW dealers for some reason lower their daily rental prices to somewhat balance that end price difference. All in all. Hertz with codes about 19/day + tax Priceline 14/day + tax ... Trying to negotiate for less, but they won't budge OH! If you're UNDER 24, Hertz has a really legit sale rate for you, works out better than most. My friend just booked it. |

For those with more experience at car rentals, hopefully you can explain this to me. So, I tried hotwire and carrentals.com for 5 days from the Santa Fe airport. From Hotwire, I got $35.95/day, total (incl. taxes) $201.82. From carrentals.com, I got $38.99/day, but the total (incl. taxes) $184.34.
Also, the carrentals.com car is a Compact, while the Hotwire car is an Economy, so yet more reason to go for carrentals.com. I realize there isn't a huge gap between the two, but if the cost per day is lower, why is the total higher from Hotwire? Is it extra fees they tack on? TIA. |

I really like costcotravel.com. I have used their site for the last two trips and gotten cars for as little as $70 total (including taxes) for 5 days. Turns out to a daily rate of about $7 before taxes. Much better than hotwire or priceline. You should also check frequently because you can cancel and rebook if the price drops.
Of course you have to have a Costco card to take advantage.

Hotwire is Unmatched for last minute rentals. You can occasionally take their quote and short it 20% when bid via Priceline.
Never buy insurance if in the us as you are probably covered by your credit card and personal car insurance policy. Unless you plan to crash it just call your credit card and ask them what coverage they automatically give you to save insurance surcharge. Finally, most agencies don't have economy cars (outside of ca and NYC) so typically you will get upgrade to next model or a YAris. |

i was looking to book something for our trip to ny on wrestlemania weekend, we are driving down from RI. I did the codes you listed and also did an incognito search without any and it is only $1-$10 cheaper between different codes and pickup locations than if i do the option to pay now instead of later without any codes at an airport location, and the regular price at a non airport location. what codes are people using? I used the op one and a cdp for aba members i found searching slickdeals. Looking to book for 3 days.

I checked out the Immediate Confirmation Discount Links page at discounthawaiicarrental.com. The cheapest 11 day fullsize rental in June was $484 whereas the same rental via Costco Travel was only $466 (including all taxes). In my case Costco is the winner. CostcoTravel - $466 (Budget) DiscountHawaiiCarRental - $484 (Budget or Avis) Hotwire - $489 (company hidden) Hertz - $527 (Hertz) CarRentals - $556 (Dollar or Thrifty) |
