PS3 Help Needed - File System Corrupt (or something)
What I did:1) Remove SATA from PS3 Install SSD along with firmware update via USB Games/updates worked fine. 2) Decided to use SSD for my PC, so: Remove SSD from PS3 Install previous SATA Won't boot, received the message: PS3 System Software cannot be run correctly 3) Booted into recovery mode, attempted to restore file system, then attempted to rebuild database. Both attempts failed and simply rebooted the PS3 right back into the "PS3 System Software cannot be run correctly" error. 4) Attempted System Update, with firmware downloaded via USB. It gets stuck at 99%. What options do I have? My goal is to restore the drive that I have, because re-patching the games are a pain in the ass, and it's a 500gb drive loaded with of media (getting movies on the PS was a pain in the ass as well). The only option I see changing any of the factors here is to take the drive out, format it via PC, then try again. Anyone with experience? |

I've done a PS3 HDD "upgrade" years ago and had an issue or two, but not the one you had.
Formatting via PC can't hurt as the PS3 is going to format it again anyway. |

As soon as you pull in a new drive, the PS3 will force you to reformat. Lost some save files like this because Sony thought this was a good idea.
