I never could get this damn thing to work. Waste of $70!
VisionTek does not honor their lifetime warranty. Do not buy graphics cards from them.

Dropcam is a much better product. Well worth the small additional cost.

The thing I don't like about the dropcam is the monitoring fees are way to high, and there is no ability to save video locally. Also no pan, tilt. Both the foscam, and dropcam have their advantages, and disadvantages, and which cam one chooses depends on what features are most important to the purchaser. I have 4 Foscam's and all are working fine. Wether accessed directly or through my HA software. Since you don't specify the problem, there are several YouTube video'sthat show you step by step how to configure these. I suggest checking those out and see if they fix your issues. The BOFH - - - - Some days you're the dog, some days your the hydrant.

0.1 kW * 24 hours * 30 days * cost per kWh So at $0.14/kWh, that'd be $10.08. Another advantage is that the footage is stored in the cloud and therefore cannot be stolen by a thief who might yank the recording device. Regarding the ability to save footage, you can do that. See attached screenshot.

There would be little to no additional cost per foscam type ip cam. And without the DVR service, it's live video feed only, and nothing can be saved. Last edited by Milkbone; 03-07-2013 at 06:21 PM.. |
