This is a pretty decent deal if you only plan on using AAA batteries for the flashlight, but if you already have 18650's or are planning on stepping into the 18650 arena I'd recommend this [meritline.com] one for $3 bucks more. It'll probably be quite a bit brighter than this Q5 flashlight. If you don't care about the flood to throw zoom function that both of those flashlights offer, than for $11 you really can't beat this [meritline.com] one. The last one is a fantastic thrower, with a tight, very bright hot spot and probably just about the brightest flashlight that you can currently buy for $11.

18650 batteries are more powerful so if you already have them great, but this is a good way to use the AAA's I have laying around.
I stocked up on Sanyo Eneloop's because they work better in my camera at cold temperatures (some forgotten deal that had both AA's and AAA's--half the AAA's are not in use.) I'm hoping these are higher quality than the last $7 flashlight I ordered from Meritline [http://www.meritline.com/focus-zo...4806.aspx] It went about 3 clicks and stopped working; not worth the pidgin email war to get a replacement. "And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms….The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants" -- Thomas Jefferson

I have this flashlight, and it is a great inexpensive flashlight. If you're going to use 18650 batteries, I'd go with this flashlight. |
