That's along the same line as my thinking as well. It's an issue of poll vs push. If someone needs a code/coupon for a specific need at a given time, it would be reasonable to expect them to go look at a master thread for unique one-time use codes or limited use codes that others have posted when they have no need for them. (Similar to the Office Depot, Staples, etc threads in the Coupons forum.) However, if there's a code released that anyone and everyone can use, sometimes multiple times, I think the community members would want to be alerted to this either by typical forum browsing or Deal Alert, even if they had no specific prior plans that would warrant a need for a code. Hence it would make sense to me to keep the text codes in a master thread but generic codes like this in individual threads.

Personally, I'm going to the grocery store later today and was in the mood for a new movie to watch. So it's only one trip out of my way, tops. And "out of my way" is a three minute drive.

Does anybody know if you get a Blu-Ray if it will just give you a credit comparable to a DVD rental?

Was just coming to post, I used a cc last night and returned the movie....Looper...GOOD, today and rented another with another cc and it worked fine. Rented Sinister, someone froma post last night in this thread mentioned as one to see....(funny someone really messed up the threads by merging/unmerging them as half the posted comments are no longer in this thread as they were yesterday).

Just for the record I posted this last week and only one person thanked me for it, so its pretty obvious no one reads through those Redbox "official" threads. Furthermore, the code wasn't added to the main post, so that thread is very poorly maintained. That thread is also missing the new game promo code that just came out as well, completely worthless "official" thread in my opinion if its not updated.

Yes it gives credit for the price of a dvd off the blu-ray...think it was something like 32 cents or similar left owing...I got the dvd, as I guess I am one who does not see much difference between the 2 when watching movies....nor HD for that matter.

You have to swipe a credit card to get it (even if it's free), so it's tied to your credit card. If you don't return it, they keep charging you for each additional night. Each movie has a unique barcode, so they know when it comes back.
