Seiko Men's SNK809 Automatic Watch 54.99 @ Amazon

I bought this watch last year, it's pretty nice, and looks good

Nice watch at a great price. I would get one if I hadn't bought a Kinetic Seiko last month. Paid more but the Kinetic can last up to 6 months without using it. I like switching watches every few days. Sometimes I don't use one for weeks. Here is what I bought:

I know, it is has green. That is what I like the most. Some people don't like it, some love it.

It wouldnt cost you very much at all to have a local watch shop regulate it for you.

I bought mine last fall. It broke a month ago. I'm now using a Citizen Eco-Drive.

Great entry level automatic. You'll get hooked quick.

Quite easy with a $5 spring bar. I changed mine out for a leather band I got for $10 on ebay.

The band is actually really easy to swap out. I purchased this one one of the last couple of times that it came up on sale, same black face. I wear it every day absolutely love it.

To your question, the band is attached by two pins that are spring loaded, if you have the proper tool (looks like a tiny little pitch fork thing) then it takes a matter of minutes. I swapped the original band out for this one [amazon.com] and there is a slight difference in the metals but it is only noticeable when you are looking for it. I think it looks quite nice. Any who the orignal was a breeze to pop off, however putting the metal one in place was more difficult because of the flanged ends that are meant to mate with the sides of the round watch face. Far from impossible though, still less than a 20 minute job.

Meh, it's ~ a 10% discount, but they were just in Amazon Warehouse last week for $42 (1x) and $46 (4x)...

Since you got a diamond ring, I think he would probably prefer a Cartier or a Rolex. This is an everyday watch, not substantial enough to represent the biggest day of your life... so far.
If you're going to get him a watch, let him choose it. It’s like buying clothes for a teenage girl, don't do it. They're picky like that.
