great oil...been using it all of my sportbikes for years. no idea why people actually buy repsol, motul and amsoil. racers using the pricey oil are typically sponsored and don't pay the outrageous prices.

As a matter of fact, you can push this thing even lower, get 4 quarts of t6 oil and 2 of your favorite oil filters - aka purolator, and drop that thing with TRT41 = 40off of $100. In terms of oil filters, I've really liked this one [amazon.com] from K&N because it has the socket attachment built in. My first oil change was a nightmare on the normal filter because working at a weird angle with a regular filter wrench resulted in it getting crushed, jammed, and making a mess. This one lets me just toss on the socket wrench and pop it right off.

Other purists out there might have different suggestions but thought the suggestion might benefit others looking for options.

Mainly the price. Plus the car is over 160k in mileage. Thought a thicker oil may do it some good.

for some reason when i put zip code for store pickup (even when i know there is a store within that zip code) it's telling me there's no stores within 50 miles of it... Is this happening to anyone else?

Sears also makes a tool to remove a standard filter with a 3/8 drive wrench:

Follow the recommendations of Suzuki and put on a stock oil filter. The SV is a really easy bike to deal with, if fact the manual calls for non synthetic oil and 86 octane fuel.

I run regular 86 gas and traditional oil in mine and it runs better and gets better mpgs than when I was running 93 test. When I do my seasonal oil change I'll be putting this Rotella in because it's cheaper than non synthetic.

Thanks for the link. I actually tried that one, too, along with literally handful of other oil wrenches. But because of the angle and how tight this filter was on my bike every wrench either slid off or was crushing the filter. Since this was the first time I had changed the oil on this bike I assume that whomever had done it before me either didn't lube the o-ring or just over-tightened it. Or maybe I'm just weak

I have been using the K&N filters on my Roadglide since there isn't much space to get at the filter. They make oil changes much easier (and you can get them in chrome too!) The Rotella T6 is good stuff and I have used it for many years in different bikes with happy results.

Can someone post the part number? i cant seem to get it to come up.
