I will agree with you that the game is a bit boring and uses the same mechanics as it's predecessors, but I can never really call a game garbage because I don't like it. You never know if someone else may like it.

While I agree this game is not very good and not nearly as good as the previous Soul Calibur games, your comparison of SC5 to the original is way off as it's far different from the previous games (in a bad way)

It's pretty well agreed by most SC fans that SC1 and SC2 were by far the best in the series, then it went downhill from there especially with the changes they made to the mechanics after SC2.

Also, Capcom is is doing just fine. Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an amazing game that was done very well.

Funny how you singled out Japanese game company.
NBA, WWE, NLF, NFS, COD ect, they all release the same "updated" game each and every single year, even more so than these japanes game companies. at least the japanese does so every few years, with the exception of capcom lol.

Now if it doesn't play like Soul Calibur 1, then how can it be called Soul Calibur

Each incarnation of the game will of course be the similar as its predecessor. Its the only reason why people continue to play the game because they like the style. All fighting games are like this. Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, just to name a few. They all still use the same formula because thats the game people want to play.

If you want to play something "new" then don't play sequels cause thats what sequels are.

You can't really compare the past with now. Even the shittiest game can mind blown you back then, cause there isn't that many game. Our standards are so damn high right now, we nit-pick on the smallest insignificant thing and with so many games in the market now, very few things can be mind blowing.
