1366x768 on a 15.6" screen and that's a shame for that video card that can do better than that. However, the rest of the specs I like and Samsung makes a strong product so +1.

Weaker GPU than the Sony, and it's 15.6" whereas the Vaio is 17.3" and huge.
I'm in the market for a modestly priced (under $600) 14-15.6" with a strong GPU for the price range to run PS and CAD. Hooking up to an external monitor is a possibility, which is why I'm not sweating the low resolution (I'd prefer 1600x900 though) but I have to carry this from the USA to China so that Sony would be, er, cumbersome... Are there any better deals than this without breaking my budget? The Newegg price for this Samsung is $200 less than anywhere else. If someone wants all the bells and whistles, $550 probably won't cut it. I like my GTX 650M w/ 1600x900. My system plays Crysis 2 and BF3 great at that resolution.
