Well they had this policy already for years they will price match any local store. Some big citys have microcenter store and best buy is supposed to price match within 25 miles that means they would have to price match microcenter store prices but that is YMMV because they are losing money for each processor.

get at MC if possible if you need a Motherboard. With the 3750k and 3225 you get $50 off a motherboard.

That is why I like free market. We need to do the same for Comcast, ATT, BofA and Delta. Big company are not good!

called 1-888-BEST-BUY. Associate took very good care of me.

I live about 75 miles from a microcenter. so i tried to call a couple Best Buys which were close in proximity to the microcenter.

1st store - Manager says 20miles is out of range of microcenter so they will not pricematch
2nd store- said i would have to come in in-person to do the order and only then will they match the competitor price. (this still required me driving 1.5 hours from my house so kind of a bad deal)

finally i called the number in the "Price Match Guarantee" link on bestbuys website. i told him which microcenter i was "willing" to go to - told him best buy is very close to there. prefer to do business with bestbuy as opposed to someone ive never shopped with yada yada - rewardzone points yada yada... just being polite and making conversation.

anyway .. he matches the price.. and offers free shipping.. SCORE!

Yea I'm not sure what is going on there...website says one thing their print ad says another They might be switching to only $40 off? I'd print the part of the website that shows $50 and try that...
