I have yet tried this one, flashed my son's HTC one V and daughter's LG Slider to P+ with very good results.
Yeah, I was hoping another deal on the One V would pop up again, since 3g phones are a lot easier to work with. However, I'm considering this based on the claims of some that this is a significant step up from the One. Pageplus will probably get 4g eventually, but I don't use enough data for that to make a difference for me.
You mostly want this for data. Esp. if you're in a WiMax area. If you're using Sprint's (VM's) 3G I'd pass for another phone probably. Often dial up speeds. And also not incredible for a voice phone as the battery is pretty poor. That said if you root it and you're in a 4G area it can still be a very good phone even today. I've had the Sprint version for a year and a half and this for a few months. Still very solid for the price. And I think I'm the only one in America who actually uses the 3D function occasionally. 3D pics can be fun on 3D TV.
If you are on the old $25 plan, any attempt to update will automatically change your rates to $35 plan. I'm on the old 25/month and would like to upgrade, but can't without being forced to the higher monthly rate.
The price on radioshack.com indeed dropped to 99.99.
I grabbed a One-V from RS for $50 a few months back,
have had no problems with the data or anything else.
Same. $50 for that phone was an absolute steal, too, even if you used it as a wifi device only. It works just the same as my Optimus V, both voice and data. Data is slow as hell and I have no real problem with that for what the service costs.
For those who complain, if you want to pay 2x-3x as much and be locked into a 2-year contract, by all means get an iPhone on Verizon. For $35/month including all the BS fees the major carriers slap -on top- of your contract price, I'm more than content to have to use wifi to stream Netflix on my phone. Web is "fast enough" over mobile data, maps are fine, nav is fine, Pandora works perfectly well. No complaints here.
I predicted a few weeks ago when the Evo hit $130 that it was about to come down to $100, and here it is. I missed this one but next SD for $100 on this phone, I'm in.
