Deal Details

I found this at Home Depot in Oakbrook, IL, this afternoon:

http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5...ord=643430

Note that this is the same price that HD gets for the 60W equivalent that uses 12.5 watts:

Amazon lists this for $34.05:

http://www.amazon.com/Philips-423...rds=423244

I checked and do not think that this is a repost. I found a thread from last year that got thumbed down when the bulbs were $40. This is closer to the price of similar bulbs, and I haven't found another that puts out this much light while using only 10 watts.

With this new rare earth element discovery near Japan, I would expect prices to drop on LED lights.

I bought 31 of them from Whittier just today! Too bad I can't return the ones I bought on eBay. They go for $18~$23 when you bid for them. I absolutely love them!

$49.97 here in Atlanta. What a messed up state.
Do you know why GA has the cheapest gas? The great state of GA gives tax breaks to gas companies to dump the cheapest quality gas (high sulfur content) gas at rock bottom prices on the states citizens. High sulfur content gas messes up the engines and the environment and not to mention causes respiratory ailments. Hence the high ozone readings and breathing related diseases.
The same situation on the energy front. Complete monopoly and rigged pricing on utilities. When will the people wake up?

Yep. Here's the original thread. The CREEs took the wind out of their sails.

Dude, just get the CREEs. Support an Amurican company and not those Dutchy Dutch. Wink

The regularly priced CREEs are a little bit cheaper.

If anything, the philips are selling like gangbusters. Most stores by me sold out at the $15 price. Not a whole lot to talk about when a bulb is basically out of stock.....

doesn't matter anymore as it looks like the cree displays are essentially replacing the L prize displays. If you didn't jump in by now, you're probably close to too late on the L prize. Looks like they are on their way to being eliminated from Home Depot entirely. Get them while you can.

I'm still pretty shocked at how well these sold. $15 is a lot per bulb considering how low our local energy prices are. I bought about 20 myself. Still evaluating them.

Are you sure they didn't just get sent back and not sold? There were 38 at my local store when this deal was first posted. The last time I looked well after the deal started it was down to 36. I just checked again and they still have 31. So in the couple of months that this deal has been on, they have only sold 5. The price is $14.97 at my local store. No one seems interested.

the way the stock was declining in the displays themselves, you could tell they were being sold in both stores in my area. I've been checking stock online for other stores a little further away and you could see the same pattern as my store.

The cree bulbs have three large cardboard displays so those could have bumped the L prize in whatever remaining stores have them. Around Christmas, the local home depots had pushed the L prize bulbs into the back somewhere. They dug them back out after the holidays with a $40+ price.

Excited to say this discount finally made it to New Jersey. I'm picking up some more today (and a Cree 6-pack, too).

The Amazon price for L-Prizes has also dropped to ~$25 in recent days.

looks like the special pricing has ended for every HD near me. Price is back up to $50 a bulb.

Is that the same for everyone?
