Mac Mini (2012) $549 at MicroCenter *in-store pickup only*

Thumbs up from me. I feel like a kid in a candy store @ Microcenter. Like the first few times I went to CompUSA (RIP) as a kid. [Well so I guess that's just kid in a computer store...]

But yea prices are good for some things (notably CPUs, are they selling them at a loss?) but not for others. Same with every other B&M store, or store/restaurant/merchant in general. It's the closest thing we have to Fry's on the east coast.

Uh, Atlanta has a Fry's and we're on the east coast. Just an FYI-type thing.

We have both Fry's and Microcenter, I definitely prefer Microcenter sales people over Fry's.. ANY DAY.

Love the motherboard/processor bundles they advertise. THOSE prices definitely can't be touched (not available for disagreement).

Seriously. Microcenter has been the cheapest place in the USA to get an i5 processor for months, and when you combine it with $50 off a lot of motherboards at the same time, they simply can't be touched.

Their memory prices are in line with Newegg's, and available instantly. They're open until 9.

Yeah the sales staff isn't world class computer experts, I had one of them try and talk me into a non-stock cooler just for a very mild OC on my i5, but that's just retail employee quality. I'm rarely looking for deep assistance from MC.

It seems $549 has been the price for a while... I was tempted... but actually, I think B & H Photo is a better deal... for $568 (I think it was), you get the mini, a FREE copy of Parallels 8, and a discounted applecare at $52.00.

At Microcenter, like everywhere, you have to know your prices. It is just as easy to come out of Microcenter ripped off as it is to strike a hot deal. But then...there's an app for that.
