Agreed...its an awesome deal. I live near Frys and if I needed a family room sized TV I would be all over this

though as typical some will "thumbs down" this deal...like children..because they dont live near Frys

Nice deal. But for the record, there is no such thing as a true 240hz panel. All panels are 60hz with "fillers", ie, the soap opera effect. There are some computer monitors out that are capable of 120hz but no tv.

for the record..there are panels that are capable of truly overlaying 4x frames...ie..60hz x4...240hz

perhaps my description in my opening post didnt have enough info

Though again it is true that this TV can do that...as well as some Sony models

as I said in the opening post the LG and Pansonic LED TVs( that seem to be so low priced and popular on SD) are not capable of this and use "back light scanning and flashing" to create the" illusion" of 4x 60hz ..better known as 240hz

the feature was designed for fast moving activity...sports etc...Not for movies
Some people like to turn it on during movies etc...for others, like me, it looks fake.
Its an on or off ( and /or adjusted) setting
For fast action...real 240hz beats the "scanning and flashing" simulated method all day long

Same here.....perhaps it's different TVs pending on which Fry's.....since the ad says Major Brand instead of being specific.

It showed 199x online.. Will it be different when at the store?

they will tell you over the phone?

they would not do that for me....all they would say is that they had it and it showed to be a display...AND that is was still there

My area will never tell you over the phone when it says "major name brand"

No big deal though...I live 5 miles from the store

I called in and the lady looked up the ad and told me that the ad referred to the 60lc847u Sharp. I then inquired about to see if there was a tv for the same price as a 60" LED 3D LCD Samsung model and they said the lowest one they carry is about $1700. This was in San Diego (San Marcos). Dunno if I want to go all the way there to find out for sure heh.
