Back in stock again. After reading the reviews for the Toshiba having problems with the USB connection, I am grabbing this one and cancelling the Bestbuy one.
I have an older Canvio 320GB USB 2.0 drive and it has been great for over 1 1/2 years now. Too bad their quality has dropped with the newer models. Thanks to SD, 7 new and 4 refurb HP TP for friends and family.

I saw someone post a question asking if it has the 5400 or 7200 RPM drive inside the case- I just wanted to say that it may vary, just because one person got a 5200 RPM drive does not mean another person will get a 5200 RPM drive unless it specifically says on the box. (thats just what I noticed in my experience)
For example when staples had the black friday sale and they sold the 500 gb seagate external drives, some of them were the 7200 rpm drives (if the SN started with NA51) and some were the 5400 rpm drives (if the SN started with NA52). They manufactured them drives originally with the 7200 rpm installed but must have ran out because in July or August they stopped using th 7200 rpm drives and switched to the 5400 rpm drives. Thats why the ones with the later serial number have the slower drives in them. |

Received mine today. Quite a jump in performance.
Atto Benchmark USB 2.0: 37MB/s read, 34MB/s write USB 3.0: 116MB/s read, 114MB/s write. So over 3x faster just by changing the interface. Another nice feature, if you connect it to a USB 2.0 port, the LED is yellow. If it's a USB 3.0 port, the LED is blue. Last edited by eibgrad; 03-05-2013 at 03:53 PM.. I think it's more like Green LED when it's connected to USB2 (and Blue with USB3 like you said) Glad I jumped on the deal! |

For Folks wondering - This one has the Seagate Drive inside. It is 5400RPM, 8MB and Slow. It is also used on the Seagate 1TB External. Not worth it unless you want to just keep it as an external Drive.
