Granted the Asus came with Windows 7, but you could have gotten a Windows 8 Pro Upgrade for $15.

I think this one is more expensive because it has a premium/sleek laptop casing, as well as a ultra-low voltage i5 processor (as indicated by the processor name).

Most of the other i5 models we see on sale have the i5-3210M or i5-3230M.
