Got a 40% coupon to the Cisco Linkys store from the "famous auction site" (Search for "151006198765" on the "aution site") for $4.98 and then used that to purchase EA6500 N900 router.

Looks like it will work on other routers as well

Brand New EA6500 for $199.99-$80 = $119.99 + tax + FS
Refurb EA4500 for $99.99 - $40 = $59.99 + tax + FS
Refurb EA3500 for $69.99 - $28 = $41.99 + tax + FS

No. AC is still pre-draft and I wouldn't bother with it until it is a set standard and firmware is more solid. That's just me.

I repped poster and Thr3e. Nice job on both. I picked the 4500 up also.

Thanks!

I find it interesting that many opt for EA4500. Is it miles ahead of EA3500 if I am not interested in DLNA?

EA routers suck due to non availability of custom 3rd party firmware. Only one worth getting is E2500

How does the EA3500 compare to the E3000 (either with stock or DD/WRT firmware)?

I think it's worth the extra ~$20. I think it's more powerful as well from quickly researching.

I've been using stock firmware on my e2500 and have had no problems. The 5ghz band is lost if you go to ddwrt last time I checked. And you don't have to use the cloud software with the ea4500.

Bought an EA4500 last night using a 40%-off coupon (got my coupon for $4).

A $100 router for $60 (+$4 coupon) is a heck of a deal.
Got one EA4500 as well..... A $199 router for $60 ( +5.39 IL Tax + $4 coupon) is still heck of a deal........
Also just FYI we need to downgrade the firmware to avoid the Cisco cloud so we can have total control of the router.......just dont want them to keep log of my porn surfingshake head

Is the EA4500 worth the $18 extra over the EA3500? As far as I can see, the only thing it adds is 450mbps on the 5ghz band, but I don't think I'll be using that anytime soon..

Also, are none of the EA routers compatible with Tomato/DD-WRT/OpenWRT? How stable is the stock firmware (when reverted back to the classic local mode)...
