Why would they drop in price? There are knock-off brands, like Members Mark, at Sam's Club that are slightly cheaper and I doubt Green Mountain is going to drop prices to compete with generic coffee. People are used to paying well over $.50 a cup, it would be poor business to make them for less than $.45ish. All the generic manufacturers need to do is charge slightly less to maximize profit.

I would wager a bet that if another company would seriously start making good, but cheaper coffee cups to compete with GMC, then they would simply stop making K-cup brewers and switch the design slightly.

If the generics are selling for $.45, they are making the same amount of profit as the real K-cups, because they do not have the pay the licence fee. I think they are milking the short amount of time they have to make $, I would imagine the generics will drop significantly in the next few months. $.25 K-cups should be right around the corner. I doubt GMC would stop making brewers. even if 25% of the loyalist still buy the expensive k-cups its worth staying in the business..... I have noticed that the Targets in my area had a few "Generic" brands of K-cups. They were all put on clearance this week. I wonder if GMC is pressuring merchants to remove these.

Yea worthless farking site. Even tried ordering on the phone, read them my exact details for a CC off my statement and they still couldn't process the order. Never had this problem with any etailer in my life.

Why?????. Do you know how long we've been hearing about the price of k-cups comming down to 10 cents once the patent expires?Years..Yet the prices are not comming down.
Why should the coffee companies screw themselves?. I don't see any permanent price reductions untilk-cups become obsolete. Until then 30 - 50 cents is a deal.
