GoDaddy $0.99 .COM - up to 3 new or transfer domains

I put in the code and the price went from 7.99 to 9.99! Where's this .99?

I had a similar problem while being logged in. I emptied my cart, logged out, and started over. Try adding your domain and applying the coupon first, then logging in after.

It SAYS it's active.. but it does NOT reflect in the cart..

i'm trying it on a transfer. code gets applied but not showing 99c for the transfer even though the details show it's valid.

Just a little below the checkout page change the currency to anything that's not US$ and then switch it back. That should fix it

thanks! it worked with the currency trick. moved 3 domains over. saved a boat load (have too many domains but that's another story).

i guess GD makes money in year 2 of this transaction. -_-

Despise GoDaddy but $1 for a transfer is a STEAL. Had to go through with it.

I'm thinking about registering a domain, but I just have a question: why do you despise GoDaddy? Are they a bad company or is it the commercials?

They were big supporters of past internet security measures. The news spread and then they suddenly changed their mind on the issues.

I also hate them because they are criminal in their method of pricing and holding on domains. If you search for a specific domain multiple times they may buy it out, and charge you 2 or 3 times the price that it originally was. I have come to the conclusion they use an algorithm to detect market interest in a domain based upon search queries and then issue a buyout of that domain. Also when your domain expires, at least in my case, they withheld it from going back to the public marketplace for over 2 months. I wanted to leave GoDaddy and I could not purchase the domain elsewhere for a long time. They also switched my old domains to automatic renewal and forgot to tell me until they suddenly charged me $15 for my domain I wanted to expire and which I had placed a request to not renew.

If you talk to others I am sure they have similar bad experiences with them, they are kind of like the mob of web hosting & domains.

But $0.99 for a transfer, for me, is worth it for the switch back until I can get another deal at namecheap or another provider.
