AH crap I just realized I ordered one without a battery. I'm worried now since some people say the battery isn't removable but some of the listings do have batteries and some don't. Might have to do a return

I agree. While it is 99.99% likely that the battery is in fact included. What recourse would you have if it wasn't because It is stated right in the description that it is not?

Also, I absolutely hate this trend of built-in batteries. What do you do when the battery becomes weak or fails? In most cases, It would be almost as expensive to have the battery replaced as just purchasing a new unit. Plus there is no longer the option to charge multiple batteries and swap as needed for extended times away from a power outlet.

Anyone not get a confirmation e-mail from cowboom? I have my amazon payments e-mail, but nothing from cowboom...Odd. They had a bunch of stock last night and I got a 5 with everything.

Does anyone have a recommendation or experience with an aftermarket ac adapter/ proprietary usb cord for this unit?

I am on a limited budget and have found some on ebay for $10 or less. Not sure if they are reliable but I have used aftermarket chargers for other devices and have not had any problem.

The $10 saved from the Sony branded ac adapter/ usb would be a lot to me.

Got mine today. It was a 5 and said battery was not included but once I took it out of the box it powered up just fine. Condition was excellent too.
