Is there any way to find out if a club nintendo pin has been used without using it?
I bought a 3ds XL used off of cowboom, came with the pin. I am buying this assuming the pin is unused. But if I use the pin now, I wont qualify for the free game promo.

unless for some crazy reason your XL came with the box (or the little red club nintendo card that has the PIN on it) the serial on your console won't cut it. My XL from cowboom only had the console and the manual, and when I registered the PIN/SERIAL on the device I was only given like 10-30 points and an extension of my warranty. I really wish I had just gotten it new for 40$ more when that newegg deal came up but hell, you can't win em all.

(Also mine had MK7 in its download history, so I guess I didn't lose out TOO bad).

You're comparing a game that came out a year ago to a game that hasn't even been released yet. Not saying that will affect how much fun you'll have with the game, but Nintendo almost never puts their mario games on sale so you won't find it for less than $30 even after a year.

The controls for Kid Icarus: Uprising are just...lacking, in my opinion. I know it comes with a stand and all that jazz, but the least that Nintendo and the developers could have done for the game was make it Circle Pad Pro-compatible - compatible in the way that you could actually use the left circle pad in conjunction with the right one, not compatible in the way that it makes the game easier for left-handed players. KI:U was also a brand new direction for the franchise, the first Kid Icarus game in quite some time.

Luigi's Mansion will also be the first game in the franchise in quite some time, but there is a base for game itself - KI:U was a completely new direction for the franchise. Luigi's Mansion will be an update to a very popular series with, god-willing, some decent, comfortable controls.
