NiCd isn't horrible, but I'd have to instruct new-tool buyers to pass on this set. The flashlight is near-useless and not worth paying for in a tool bundle. Most people will also not use a reciprocating saw (I use my jigsaw and circ saw a hell of a lot more), though this is just my humble opinion. This leaves the drill and driver - the two most useful tools you'll own. I bought a set of Bosch Lithium Ion drill/driver on an SD last year for under $150. The set goes for $199 at Lowes every day. Better battery, similar drill (although I prefer Bosch in general, most of the time) and if you wait for the deal, you can save $70 and get yourself a circ saw, jigsaw, or one hell of a lot of flashlights. Hell, the NiCd drill/driver combo from DeWalt goes for $120 on the holidays every year, so why is a stupid flashlight and a rarely-used reciprocating saw $100? Not TD, but definitely not TU
