regardless, i do agree with you in theory here... factoring price and individual user needs on these two full frames - overall this is a interesting topic to me

Not sure, but things seem pretty volatile as it is. I never expected 6D to drop like that. A month ago, things looked like this:

Late Dec-Jan 2013 (est.)
5Dmk2 - $1500
6D - $1900
5Dmk3 - $2700

But now:
Mar 2013 (est.)
5Dmk2 - $1400
6D - $1400
5Dmk3 - $2500

Yes, that's what I meant. Like this deal, if you were to conservatively sell everything, you could probably get the body @ around $1500. Which begs the question (for me) - is the 5D3 worth an extra $1000?

I also agree with you on the topic. The 6d for the right price would work for me, but I do really like the way the 5d mark feels in hand and how its buttons are laid out. It's very similar to my 7D.
