I'm surprised that this isn't mentioned in a lot of Insignia TV threads. I was very close to purchasing that 46" Insignia LCD for $379.99 last week.
Insignia TVs have for years had an inherent lag between changing channels using the tuner. I think this only happens when you use the built-in tuner and doesn't happen when using a cable box though. Since this is a smaller TV, I would assume that it would probably be used in a bedroom, kitchen, or spare room that someone probably wouldn't want to pay for an extra box with. People report a 2-3 second lag which is very noticeable and very annoying. If you google search it, it's very common. The Insignia message board representative will reply and say that "the issue you are reporting is normal." Just something to think about. I can deal with the lower quality components and the lower reliability that comes with it for the lower price, but issues in it's operation like this would sway me away. 32" TVs are regularly in the $200-250 range anyways. You can swear by your refurbished stuff all you want, but I have first-hand experience, and would NEVER buy anything refurbished.
Why do you think refurbished stuff is so cheap? The manufacturer gets defective products returned and unload them to 3rd party vendors cheap who try to entice you at 20% discount off retail. |

Picked one up last night. After calibration it's got a pretty nice picture and decent sound.
Be aware that the VESA mount is an odd size (200/100mm). I ended up having to make up some quick adapters using some scrap steel to use my Cheetah mount. They also sell kits on Amazon that accomplish the same thing, but I didn't feel like waiting. |

I checked online to see if my Best Buy had one of these, they didn't but I decided to swing by and check out their selection anyways. Pretty much the first thing I see when I walk towards the TV's is a pile of damaged products at discounted prices. The second TV I came across was the same model listed in the OP except for it was 1080 p.
No materials were missing and I think the only thing wrong with it was that the box had been ripped open. Got it for $217 after taxes, $199.99 before taxes |

Picked one up this afternoon - can you please share your calibration tweaks? Thanks |
