Good Alternative Depending on your Needs
I "almost" pulled the trigger on the Yamaha receiver when it first went on sale at Frys but then found reviews and this one seemed to be a better value + you get an extra HDMI port, Airplay / Pandora, & 7.1 !!!!!

I've actually been waiting for a long time on a good deal on either this, the 471 or the 573. I missed the deal on the rx-v471 a couple of weeks ago from Newegg for $150 which was a pretty good price. This is the same thing pretty much but is network ready and has airplay as well as iphone & android apps, which in my opinion can be worth the extra $100. I was also going to be charged tax with Newegg.
This is a very good receiver and I was just comparing it to the Pioneer VSX-1022-K which is 7.1 but I only need 5.1 and from the reviews it seems like Yamaha is more dependable than Pioneer. |

I just pulled the trigger on the Frys deal an hour and half ago. Wish I would have waited because I rather deal with amazon.com if there ends up being any problems. I pay taxes with frys or amazon so the price is the same. I'm a prime member at amazon so I could have got 2 days shipping free, oh well.

Tried to cancel said it was about to be loaded on truck and be shipped out. Person said they could cancel it and there was 90% chance it would be stopped, but still 10% it will still be shipped and I be charged on my card. I decided just to keep the order and not deal with the hassle. Said 3-5 business days, so I will get it 1-3 days later then amazon. You win some, you lose some.

I'm hoping the V471 models show up at woot or some daily deal site for around $150 again. It seems besides 4k pass through and network ability (neither of which I really need now), there is not much difference between the V471 and V473. On the other hand, it seems $248 is the lowest the V473 has ever been. Wondering if it will drop even further to around $200, at which point I would definitely be in for. |

Thinking about returning my rx-a810 which I got fROM BB open box for 219. If anyone can show me where I can order a replacement remote I'd be much appreciated
