I was able to get a scratch & dent 2420 with the i3, was able to use my $50 e card and another $24 card, so with tax came to $253

I grabbed a e5430, 3rd Gen i5 for $380 shipped - $100 gift card from the Dell Black Friday fiasco. Not a bad deal I think.

Just get StartIsBack [startisback.com]. It taps into legacy start menu code that is already in Windows 8. Some control panel items will link you to Modern UI, but other than that, it is indistinguishable from Windows 7. I use this on my desktop machine.

Bit on an i5 Latitude 4GB for $403 to my doorstep. Damn taxes. Not super hot, but a fair deal I think. Wish it were 8gb.
