DisneyWorld in May

If a better deal comes along then you could switch your reservation to include it so I would go ahead and book to make sure you at least get something. Generally speaking discounts in May are scarce...I think only 4 days in May last year were included in free dining. Word is that Disney is cutting back on promos this year so we will have to see.

Went to Disneyworld twice last year and stayed at Pop both times. I love it there. It isn't run down at all. There is a bridge that links Pop and AoA so you could check it out pretty easily. Pop is the largest resort but also you don't have to share buses with other resorts. I didn't care for AoAs food court but it could have been a bad experience (I only ate at it once).

Regardless of where you go you will have a fantastic time. Im even considering moving close to there after I get out of graduate school in 3 years just because of Disney. If money is a factor go with the cheaper option. If not, go where you like the theming best.

I think we are going to go with Pop and use the extra cash for food or souvenirs. We'll check out the other resorts while we're there to help us decide where to stay at for our next trip.

Do you have any recommendation for a character buffet? I have a 2 year old boy who loves Toy Story and Tigger.

I don't know of a Toy Story one but crystal palace at magic kingdom has Tigger. Pretty good breakfast too.

Not sure where your from but I booked hotel and flight for my wife and 2 kids for 571 and change after taxes. Jetblue is running some good promo with kids staying and flying for free. We are going 5/14 to 5/18. I also bought supergrover passes from Sesame place before 3/1 which gave 20 percent off the passes and free admission to seaworld, aquatica and busch gardens. I am probably doing 2-3 days at disney but haven't found luck with any major discounts.

Wow thats a great deal. Which hotel did you get? Our hotel alone was $400.We'll be going around the same time.

I ended up doing Celebration Suites. They were offering other brand names at better rates like the ramada but from advice from people who went to some of the other hotels I ended up going with Celebration Suites about 2.5 miles from Disney.

Looks like I picked a good day to stop in here. Same boat as everyone else, thinking about a "last minute" trip to DisneyWorld.

Would most likely drive so we're not worried about flights, more wondering about good deals on hotels and tickets. We'd likely need a hotel for 4 nights and spend 2 days in the park.

From the research I've done, the current promotion "Spring Sale" up to 30% off on rooms and a small discount on tickets will be the best promotion for Spring and Summer until the offseason Fall starts. I think the Spring Sale may end today as well.

OP suggest booking a room only and wait to see if a new deal may materialize after the current one expires the end of the month. You can always buy discounted WDW tix closer to your travel date. Best prices are thru signing up for mousesavers newsletter link @ undercovertourist. I've used them several times they are prompt with shipping and legit.

fyi, you only need to pay 1 night's deposit for a WDW room-only reservation. You can call back and change to package easily a week prior to your visit, with total payment being due at that point.

fyi, keep an eye out for orbitz discount codes. I used a 20% off code last weekend that stacked with WDW's up-to 30% off promo. You can add on discounted tix orbitz & use the free magical express service from the airport, but not eligible to add the dining plan.

WDW discounts aren't much to celebrate this year so far, but always a chance of FDP (free dining plan) rolling out. You need to keep checking. They usually release offers to Chase disney visa holders a few days prior to general release.

We've stayed at most of the values, they are basic heavily themed accommodations. We enjoy the music main pool. I'm not a fan of Pop Century though, the older three values have established landscaping, etc. just more visually appealing imo. Note that guests staying @ Pop are not permitted to use the AoA pool.
