Buy the v200 and v300 for about $180, ship-to-store (or check B&M if it's in stock like the v300 usually is) and compare for yourself. Keep your old HDD OS install intact for comparison, install the SSD OS w/o product key for the trial, and you should be able start and finish the installs, update, and have enough time to test drive both SSDs within 2 days. Return whatever you don't like or need within 14 days of purchase to a Staples store (even with ship-to-store you'd still have at least 7 days to test drive).
Boom, now you've got firsthand experience to put internet discussions and nitpicking into practical context. It won't be much but it'll be a much better start than blindly looking at specs and artificial benchmarks.
I am sure the incremental speed gains that you may have realized will not be worth the hours used to compare these drives. I'd just go with the cheaper, tried and true drive.
BTW the SATA II drive had an average transfer speed of about 55MB/s, the SATA III was 110 MB/s. really both of these are well below the SATA II interface spec. More infor here if you are interested http://www.tomshardware.com/forum...fer-speeds
That's probably more a function of the cache and controller improvements in the newer drive rather than the fact it's SATA III or SATA II interface, plenty of very fast WD SATA II Caviar Blacks out there demonstrate this point.
Artificial intelligence is never a match for natural stupidity
Most useless terms:
ASAP - how bout earlier?
YMMV - isn't that life?
Do ___ going forward - any other way?
I got x for $y on BF or last week - unless you have DeLorean with a flux capacitor
Illegitimati non carborundum
Wins: #1, #2, #3, #4, #5?
You have been assimilated into the SD collective consciousness, resistance is futile
