For anyone on the fence about a Vita -
http://www.target.com/p/playstati...=le They even price match their own website in Target stores now (what a concept). Got it Sunday, I have PS+ and it's been total amazing madness with the downloads I've had queued for months from my PS3. |
|
Just got PS+ the other day since it was $10 cashback and 3 extra months and PS3 has been downloading for 72 hrs straight and still not done yet with all the free PS3 and PS Vita games! And just got a Vita too. Would never have bought it without PS+. Think it'll be even better when it can be used for remote play on the PS4.

Id say at least 95% of gamers don't play more than a few games that they have had for more than a few years. Everyone has their faves from the past, but the VAST MAJORITY of gamers pretty much play most games once and are done with it. I played Payday: the heist when it was free for ps+, and i don't need to ever play it again. Most of the games on ps+ are one-and-done. You dont need to go back and play it again. So while the games are no longer playable when your membership ends, theres a really good chance that WE DO NOT CARE. We played the game, had our fun, and then moved on. If you pay $60 for a game and then sell it for $30 after you beat it, then really all you did was "rent it" for $30. We aren't paying $30 to rent a new game for a month. We are paying $50 (or for some of us $40) for a year (or a year + 3 months for some of us). I paid $80 for 2.5 years of ps+. That's less than $3 per month. Please name one game service that provides the value of ps+ for less than $3 per month. There isn't one. Ps+ for $2.67 per month is the best value in gaming today. |

If a game comes out on the last tuesday of March, it is still March. If a game comes out on the second-to-last tuesday of March, it is still March. These games will be free SOME TIME in march, but NOT RIGHT NOW. I have a birthday in 2013, it doesnt mean my birthday is today |

Yeah I understand the concept I am just new to PS Plus and didn't know how/when they released free titles. Thanks for the wonderful explanation though!

In order for a free game to be saved to your account you must "buy" it or download it (or at least START to download it) or else when the game expires from the free games list you wont be able to get it free. As stated before, updates happen on tuesdays, generally early to late afternoon depending on time zone. You can delete games you've downloaded and you can re-download them at a later time (if you're still a member) by going to the psn store and clicking 'downloads" or "my downloads" (im not at my ps3 at the moment so I forget which). Anything that you actually pay money for you get to keep forever. So if there is a discount on a game for ps+ members and you buy it, you get to keep it even after your membership expires. But be careful with dlc because if you buy dlc for a "free" game and your membership expires you wont be able to use the dlc because you no longer have access to the game. When your membership ends you lose access to the free games, but whenever you start a new ps+ membership you will get all those games back. So you can always take a break from ps+ if you want to and get back in when theres a free game that you really want. I think thats all the necessary stuff to know. A couple suggestions: Don't pay $10-15 for psn games when they come out. You will either get the game for free later, or you can buy it for half price or less when they give a ps+ discount. The more games you buy at full price (or close to it) the less value you get from ps+. "Buy" or start to download every new free game each week, regardless of whether or not its a game you want to play. You might have friends or relatives over and they might want to try those games, might as well have the option. Thats about it. I hope you enjoy ps+, its the best value in gaming |

Just so it's not taken wrong I want to clarify that I *DO* have a Vita, but: "it's a great time to have a Vita"????? Seriously??? The number of good vita games (not found anywhere else) can be counted with the finger of one hand.... I WISH it was good to have a Vita and they had more good games...
