The nexus 7 has a much better screen, you are the FIRST to get any updates directly from Google without any bloatware extra UI, and a better processor.

The biggest deterrence for me is the low res from the galaxy tab 2

This is true. I bought from TigerDirect and the tablet had screen flicker issues. So it seems like refurbs might be the units returned by others because of this issue. Make you sure to test yours when it gets delivered.

Unlimited memory, 16gb is not adequate, I don't understand why they couldn't of added a microsd slot. Also, I will take new over refurbished every time. Who knows if the battery will still hold a good charge. I like knowing I'm the first to own it.

Yeah completely understand the "i am first to open it" idea. All nexus devices do not have any memory expansion as far as I know. Its probably because 1. they make a marginal profit from the memory size differences (i mean $50 from 16 to 32? cmon, it costs them like $10) 2. memory slots are much slower, and they don't want to perceived experience to be altered for those who do not know this and attribute the lag to the device itself 3. apple products do the same, and no one complains because they've kept it that way for a while. These days, I guess its all about the cloud....

What's the new "I am the first to own it" price on this?

$200 for a brand new one (though it's out of stock currently at newegg) without any coupons.

$250 for the 32GB model, and $300 for the 32GB 4G version.

Not sure $40 difference between used and new is really worth it considering the difference in warranty.

i think you're cry yourself to sleep if u take the Galaxy Tab 2 over this. the dual-core 1.0ghz is so sluggish. i had the galaxy tab 10.1 and the galaxy tab 2. makes me want to flip a table when it slows down, especially during webpages. the nvidia tegra 3 quad-core in the nexus 7 is a big step up.
