The employees might act a little shady and pretend to not know about the promotion... I told them that I called earlier and the lady on the phone said that they have vouchers. Lo and behold, it was sitting in front of him behind the cash register. Punks!

I called mine and was told I didn't need the flyer but when I got there nobody knew about the promo. Asked them to try the code and it went through. Free iced drink. Wohoo. It was good but I would not pay $4 for it.

sunnyvale Ca drive thru asked the guy and he said you only get it with "any purchase" so had to make a purchase before getting the "flyer"...wouldn't give it just for free i asked. oh well thanks OP repp

Yeah it is not really a flyer. The thing says coupon on it.

Based on my experience, Starbucks either do not know about their own deals or tries to not tell people.

At my first store,
"Do you guys have promotion going on?"
"What promotion?
"Uhh like a flyer for free cup of macchiato"
"It's new but it's not free"
"Ahh... okay..."

Second store,
"Do you guys have a flyer for macchiato?"
"Hm? What flyer?"
"Free cup of hazelnut macchiato flyer"
"Ooo that. Well... the person with that flyer walked out with them in her apron.."
"Should I just wait for her then?"
"I don't know when she's coming back." - he seemed really irritated by this point
"Come on I even have the code. It's 350"
"Ahhh fine I will give it to you what's the code again?"
"350"

Then I waited right in front of the counter playing with my phone. After 5 minutes, that barista just walked out to take trash out so I was like wtf??
Only to find out my coffee was sitting at the counter the whole time!! It tasted really bad too....

As I walked out of the store, I saw an employee walking in so I asked her if she had a flyer then she took one out of her apron.
You REALLY have to ask for it in order to get this flyer.

yeah and btw, just fyi my experience i drive up and ask about the promo and he says you have to buy something and then i could drive up get the coupon and drive back through lol wtf!? i ask him can i just drive up there once and get it at the same time..they woudln't let me...weird

Got my free drink @san jose. Employees were pretending unaware but then showed the flyer in my phone.

Thanks OP, got my free coffee. Although, I don't think I'd ever buy it myself, it's way too sweet.
