You can also try selling on Amazon, the fees are less but you'll be targeting a small audience. |

Awesome, if anyone recalls the Best Buy GC deal around Dec. I was able to check out using Best Buy Gift Cards for several $25 Amazon Kindle Cards (Found in the PC Section x8).
One cashier said there was a limit of 5. So I went to another associate and rang up 3 separate purchases just in case of an error. I stacked the GC purchases with some American Express Prepaid Cards (which Amazon doesnt let you enter in multiples) of and I was able to get rid of all those for good purpose. =) In total a nice $200 credit, coupled with a buddy living in a tax free state that's another $70 saved. And on top of this 2% amazon rewards comes to something like $15 Patience for this deal has left me with a grin from ear to ear. Thanks OP repped on the good find. Remember the Eye is the gate to the mind, so clean the camera up nicely and post a lot of photos. A nice detailed write up too will let potential buyers know that the equipment was cared for buy a knowledgable owner. A brief write-up and a stock photo says "I'm hard up for cash and I'm not going to say too much about this item because I stole it" Good luck. |

I got a Nikon digital camera last week at Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B7N9B...M7RKFCY0N8.
I prefer Built-In Wi-Fi at first. But now....Am I stupid? |

This Canon is bigger but takes better pictures. Good entry level camera if you're serious about learning photography. Only you can decide what your needs are. |

sniperruff and AkumaX, thank you for the replies.
I'm so confused now. The lenses I see that have been offered with the T4i have been the regular 18-55mm IS, 18-135mm STM, 40mm STM pancake, 55-250mm IS. I have a 50mm f1.8 II already. I'd probably doing some video of the places that I travel to. I thought the zoom function would be beneficial in this situation. I want to be able to take pictures in a low light situation, but don't mind buying a cheap flash. Which is the most versatile lens for my budget as I don't think I will be switching in and out of the lenses a lot? I don't want to spend more than $1,000 for the camera and lens(es). |

I'd begin by thinking under what conditions would you be travelling, and what kind of pictures you take. Take me for example - I like taking pictures around the city (outdoors), museums (indoors), and plants/animals at the park (telephoto), friends' weddings (indoors). It makes sense for me to have a somewhat wide lens that's also fast, something like the Canon 35mm f2. It will let me take landscape shots or indoors, so that covers 3 of my needs. The 55-250mm IS I find to be a blessing because it's so cheap, compact, and has a very good IS so I can take handheld pictures of birds in the park. From what I understand, STM lenses focus more quietly and it's something that's nice to have although not a necessity for casual family videos. I think your 18-135mm has that area covered. You mentioned you already have the 50mm f1.8. I'd use that as my low-light specialist and swap that for indoors/night pictures. The 40mm f2.8 is popular but I think it's too similar to the 50mm and would therefore be redundant. Personally I'd choose the 50mm f1.8 over the 40mm f2.8 because it's four 1/3 stops faster. I'd take a somewhat soft picture over a blurry picture any day. As for flash, you may want to try and see if the 50mm f1.8 does the job. I personally rarely use my 430ex because it's just more things to carry and makes the camera very bulky. Not to mention you can't use the flash in many places. My suggestion? Stick with the 18-135mm STM since it's a versatile lens (and you value convenience) and keep the 50mm f1.8 when you go indoors. Upgrade when you realize there's something you can't do with your current setup. (Say, a fast telephoto prime) But whatever you do, don't obsess with the latest and greatest. Just take more pictures, think more about the scene, and when you feel confident, I'd check out Adobe Lightroom (or something similar) if you haven't done so to touch up pictures. wow, thanks for sharing all the info, that's really helpful!
so if I only take macro pictures, does that mean I can skip all the lenses mentioned below (18-55mm IS, 18-135mm, 40mm, 55-250mm IS), and just go straight for the 60mm or 100mm macro lens? The 18-55mm lens that usually comes with the camera, what exactly is it good for? can I take macro shots with it?
