Anyone else having issues with this computer? Bought last week and the auto windows updates slowed the whole computer up. Was told by hp to restore the system the system (wipe everything and start from scatch). After restore was told to turn off all automatic windows updates as its a know problem. After doing the restore the computer worked for a day and starting slow up again, tried another system restore and the hard drive failed.

I haven't had any problems like that. Mine is working fine. Maybe you want to return yours since maybe the hard drive was causing your initial problem, too.
BTW, anyone who is having a hard time learning or adjusting to Windows 8, just download and install the free Classic Shell [sourceforge.net]. I did that. Took about 10 minutes to download and install and then it looks and acts just like Windows 7, but with all the benefits of Windows 8 (such as fast startup time). Worked great for me, and then there was no learning curve. Last edited by Studly; 03-18-2013 at 04:27 PM.. |

Well I went ahead and decided to return it, be warned for those of us who don't live near any staples. The only way to return without a store nearby is to have their courier service pick up the package. I was told to leave the package outside and there is a 5 day window where they will pick it up. They will not give a firm date or notify me before coming. So my computer will be sitting outside in the cold and snow for a pick up in the next 5 days.
