There are only 10 types of people in the world: Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

not the best deal, just got on the dell inspiron few weeks ago for almost same setup , 3rd gen intel i3 with 6gb ram for $360+ CA tax , comes out about $420 shipped.
So lukewarm deal, but to people who are in need of a computer and not willing to wait for a better deal, go for it

Hot deal for those who don't want to mess with mail in rebates and also want a single warranty with a single point of contact which will cover every single component.
When I build a system and use parts from various vendors I hate when a video card manufacturer tries to blame the motherboard for the problem (just an example of many such instances). With a system like this you know everything will work out of the box so you can get it setup and get right down to business. To some this may be worth paying a little more. Now me, I like to tinker, and I know HP does not offer a lot of BIOS options on this lineup, so I'll pass. Still tempted though! |

It can't quite be had for $200. For recent deals, the best would probably be:
http://slickdeals.net/permadeal/8...-case-more Add in about $50 for a low-mid tier card (HD 6770 comes to mind), some extra for DVD drive and wifi, and you're at about $300. At that point it's your choice on which way you're going for an OS! I don't see it happening for significantly less than that. |

Frys.com put out an A10 5700 with MSI FM2-A75MA board for $140 after rebate. Bought a case and PSU from Newegg for $50 (case was Shell Shocker for $30 AR) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6817152032 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6811147166 Bought a 6670 on ebay for $51 after shipping. (no link, plenty out there) Bought 8GB Patriot Viper (2x4GB) 1600mhz RAM on Amazon for $50. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/...os_product I will use the HDDs from my current 2007 Inspiron 531s (2007 model) that was being used as an HTPC until I kept getting BSOD from (my guess) overheating. |

This build it yourself conversation is ridiculous.
No chance you can get this for under $200. Under $300 maybe if you plan/price it out right (if you needed to buy right now no chance) and this is not including an OS which many build it yourself people can probably get for free. Overall you almost always get more bang for your buck if you build it yourself so why are we even discussing this? It is the same for this desktop or any other. On a side note I bought the Lenovo A6 desktop last year for $260? $270? and it came with HDMI so for this computer to not offer it is ridiculous, in my opinion (newer by a year, A10, etc). Come talk to me when you've built over 500 and deployed thousands of them my little satanic troll. The stuff I actually hand build, or rather instruct others to build because I'm too busy, attaches to multimillion dollar medical imaging equipment. The cards I buy are well beyond your measly satanic 200 buck budget. Last edited by cheepdood; 03-05-2013 at 12:56 PM.. |
