If you are on a tight budget, I would recommend waiting for an i3 deal and adding an HD 6670-level graphics if necessary. |

I recently built a hackintosh system for my daughter for about $400+. It consists of:
I3-3225 +GA-B75M-HD3 combo deal from MicroCenter =$145 16 GB of Cosair RAM = $75 Rosewill FBM-01-W cheap case = $21 Cosair CX-500 PSU = $30 (after $20 rebate) 128 GN Samsung 830 SSD = $80 ( bought it last december) cheap LG DVD burner = $17 TP-LINK TL-WDN4800 Dual Band Wireless card = $30 It uses the integrated HD4000 but it's pretty fast for daily usage.So, I think you can build a decent system for about $400 ![]() ![]()

These HPs are dead silent, decent onboard graphics, passable CPU, USB 3.0, WiFi...all good things. Very similar to the one I picked up from a local shop for $80 last month or I'd be all over this. Already threw in another 8GB of ram that was FAR and a 650W power supply that was $15AR. Just need a good vid card like a 7850 or better and I'm set.

I just ordered one. So to hook this up to my monitor and its speakers I just need a DVI-D and optical audio cable, correct? Is Monoprice still the best place to get quality cables at the best price?
Also, if anyone sees a deal for add'l memory that will fit this PC, please share! |

At least that's what you say. But, uh, what's that got to do with the consumer level stuff that people here actually buy? PS: You are amazing. |
