This is a great system for those who need an inexpensive system with decent graphics. Basically, with AMD systems, you trade some CPU power for better integrated graphics. If you need a faster CPU, go with Intel Core i3/i5. If you need solid entry-level 3D graphics capability, choose AMD A8/A10.

In comparison to the recent Lenovo i5 deal, this PC has a slower processor but better integrated graphics, USB 3.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. If you were on the fence about the Lenovo thinking you needed an HD 6670, wireless connectivity and/or USB 3.0 ports in it, give this a try.

I almost grabbed a pair of these for family members but found what I felt was a slightly better deal in the Dell Outlet w/ a 20% off coupon. grabbed 2 3rd gen i5 Inspiron 660s w/ 8GB ram, 1TB drive, Win8, WiFi, media reader, DVDRW, for $407 each. (free shipping) those are USB3 as well & it has HDMI out.

I think I got the last of the i5s but they had plenty of i3s left & the outlet always changes so you can keep checking back

I am looking for four (4) Desktops, and looks like i5 is gone.

Looks like the Inspiron 660s are also OOS now at Dell Outlet, and Dell support tells me they don't support dual monitors, which I wanted. So maybe I'll stick with the Staples HP PC, since that supports dual monitors.

Was that a slickdeal? How long ago?
no I used a coupon code. the trick is to call a rep when they first post coupons on twitter. the reps seem to hold pc's in their queue to sell for commission. they have access to deals that aren't posted on the outlet. if you do get a low price on the outlet website, it will be gone before you get it in the cart in most cases.

thanks for the reply, how often do you check dell twitter? does coupon code appear there first?? So lets say I get the coupon codes then I immediately call Dell rep to see if they have the config I want in their system?

If I'm not understanding your process correctly, can you be more specific?

thank you!

It is time to retire my old Dell. I use it mainly for internet and some gaming. Cant decide what to do. Grab this or maybe one of the Inspiron 660 i5's or wait for the next XPS promotion?

once I see new coupon codes on twitter, I call or chat online with outlet rep.

I ask them for the cheapest 3rd gen i5 they have. I dont think the i7 is worth the extra money. I make sure I get at least 1 TB drive and 8 GB DDR and a video card.

the XPS is nice to buy from outlet because they upgrade the warranty to in home and premium support

What was your total? It would be awesome if you could scan your receipt to help others to do a price match.

i wish i had a scanner or i would. I was hoping that is someone repeated the order at kiosk (put online coupon at kiosk) and pay at register it might be repeated.
The total was 349.99.

Do you have a cell phone or a camera to take a picture? That would work instead of a scanner.

I am trying to understand how that could have happened. I am guessing you entered the promo code at the kiosk and then maybe the cashier put it into the register at the checkout as well?

I bought this model last week with the coupon. I do a lot of photo editing, so it seemed like a great budget friendly deal Smilie
