Just chatted with the online customer support to see why my coupon wasn't honored at the first store. He told me that the coupon counts as a technology item and therefor is subject to price match. He also couldn't direct me to the coupon policy.

After bringing home this laptop my girlfriend now wants one. Hopefully my luck holds out again tomorrow.

I hear that. You can use 'em as Windows repair "disks"/PS3 save game backups/movie playback on video devices/sending large files to parents with slow internet, etc. I just paid for two 16 GB drives at Best Buy a few days ago using Rewards Certificates.

Yeah, at this price point, if she even remotely has a need, you might as well pick one up. If she has a change of heart, you should have no problem getting your money back out of it and perhaps even make a few bucks along the way.

got one at one of the tucson stores this afternoon. manager tried to deny the coupon saying staples don't carry the item; I politely pointed out that I thought only a PM require that the competitor have the same model for sale, while for a coupon there is no such need. I said if he would not take the coupon, I understand and would go to staples for a similar laptop. He finally gave up and got one from the back. Did not push my luck asking for a USB thumb drive.

Yeah, that's what some people don't get -- you're not trying to PM a specific computer, you're tying to have them match a coupon. And the coupon says ANY Windows 8 computer (even clearance).

BTW, good idea on not pursuing the thumb drive. If they are going to easily give it to you, you gladly take it and smile. But trying to get that extra bit may have given him time to think twice on the deal and change his mind.

The wording in the policy is vague. When I bought this laptop, it was before I knew about the Staple's coupon. So about 4 days later, I went back into Office Depot and asked specifically about honoring a local competitor coupon. Both stores I went to agreed to honor it for only one laptop and price adjusted each of my laptops. I bought two, hence why I had to go to two different Office Depot's lol.

This was in Denver, CO, by the way.

I just bought this laptop but haven't opened it yet. Would like to know if someone who has this laptop can post their windows experience index scores. Would like to see if this one performs better than my existing 2nd gen i5 laptop and if not, I would probably return this. Thanks.

Second to last sentence in the first paragraph. They match the point of sale price of the competitor and any coupons they have. That was the policy given to me by a manager. So the competitor has to have identical item and what ever price they sell it at plus that competitors coupon. So any PM for this deal is YMMV according to their policy on their site.

Was able to get one in Huntsville, TX. They were unsure at first and said they were going to have to check if they could.

Great laptop, the keyboard is fantastic. I got it for the 260 originally by using the wrapp giftcode. and I convinced them to do it all online! Don't expect a miracle from a cheapo laptop. Its touchpad is a little iffy and same with wifi. Otherwise It is well worth the price you paid. I'd say open the bad boy up. If you dont like it, flip it on craigslist for a profit. On this machine people will be likeley to pay just under the od.com price, giving you a profit.
