I ordered both an 8GB micro sd and a 4GB micro sd. I ordered on two separate accounts and with two separate cards. I checked my statement today for the 4GB and I noticed I got charged $0.99, but then apparently that same day I was also credited $0.99, making the 4GB SD card free. The charge for the 8GB card still remains.
Did anyone else get a random credit? I'm not complaining, but I don't really understand what the heck happened here. |

Wildly different speeds between 32gb & 16gb?!
I CAN guarantee it! I actually posted on Patriot's website and then came searching back to this thread (that I used to get mine). I had the 32gb version previously and love it. I even like the the retractable part which seems to irk some people (I like that when i pull it out of the port it 'trips' the switch and it auto-retracts), it feels crisp and (thus far after 2 months) sturdy. However: On my 32gb I have consistent, steady write speeds of around 40mb/sec and never lesss than 32-35ish. On this 16gb I have consistent, steady write speed of 10mb/sec or less. I'm using the same port on my computer, transferring the exact same files and both are formatted exactly the same (NTFS though i tried it back at FAT32 as well) using the exact same program. Am I missing something, or does the same model vary that wildly between 32gb and 16gb capacities? |

So it really is something in the 16gb hardware? I ran HD-Tune on it and got the "70mb/sec" speeds that people talk about, here and in the Newegg reviews, which I imagine is what I would get if I ran it on my 32gb version, but it is sure nothing close to that in practice. Very, very disappointing...but still open to solutions if I'm missing something. $8 isn't worth the shipping and hassle to try another one but I'd be curious if another Rev.# gives the 35-45mb/sec speeds. |
