AMD is better off folding and selling its IP to companies that could really use it. |

Ordered by Sapphire HD 7950 three hours ago via Amazon and already got a response from AMD and my code for the Crysis 3 download. BioShock Infinite code to arrive soon. Can't wait to play this at 2560x1600.
Link to AMD deal. [amazon.com] |

Yeah. I know this is slickdeals and all, but I went with Amazon even though I have to pay tax (I do not at Newegg) because that $24 is well worth cutting the risk of running into a problem seeing as how the reviews indicate that 1 out of 10 has problems. Amazon said they would only deduct the cost of the games if I return the unit due to no fault of theirs. If I got one of the bad ones from Newegg, I have all the additional time waiting for it to ship (on my dime) back to the Newegg, and then back to me (probably super saver shipping so there is another 3-4 days). That $24 would get eaten up too quickly, and forget it if Newegg tried to deduct $160 from the price of the card...
That reminds me, since this isn't the Sapphire thread, I am curious as to the inconvenience the guy may hhave gone through with XFX getting those two cards replaced. I realize that getting a "free" upgrade is nice and all (hey I RMA'd a lifetime warrantied board to BFG back when they were around), but if you do any serious gaming, it is not worth all of the hassle versus a higher quality card. And the one listed here doesn't even have the lifetime warranty, so it was easy to pick the voltage unlocked Sapphire over this one. Last edited by saintronin; 03-07-2013 at 01:26 PM.. |

Regarding this XFX card versus the Sapphire, I seriously doubt I would ever notice a difference. I went with the Sapphire because of the the comments mentioning slightly higher stats and less noise. Seemed worth the extra 24 bucks, and a no-brainer with Amazon Prime. Next to a portable GPS unit, deciding on what video card to get has been one of the roughest research endeavors I've had. Much appreciative of these posts on Slickdeals. |

Good point on the noise difference too. I found this link a few days ago but still had it open in one of my 50 browser tabs. http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...07-12.html |
