The president can suspend posse comitatus and allow the US military to operate against targets in the US. This is nothing new. The fact that Holder makes no mention of suspension of posse comitatus is disturbing.

The point I'm trying to make is that the American chitizens (intentional spelling) are being manipulated by the US gov't into thinking that killing by drones is cool and therefore, we'll get comfortable with it, and then have our rights eroded. The media hasn't made it a big story, by why are we creating a large drone base in Africa? Why haven't more people questioned this? Because drones are cool. If we were creating a new manned airforce base in the same location, all hell would break lose. Time to stop the war.....on businesses and individual success!

i don't see much of a difference between us drones killing us citizens, citizens of other countries, people in the us, or people outside of the us. killing a us citizen in omaha is no more or less objectionable than killing a yemeni citizen in sanaa.
i hope it doesn't happen, and take some comfort in them saying they have no intention of doing so, until of course, they intend to do so. Rumble, young man, rumble. These are interesting times we live in. Punctuation is key. Fruit is nature's candy.

Obama isn't going to try to kill innocent Americans or any Americans at all within US borders, unless there's some really terrible situation created by future Timothy McVeighs that take a load of hostages.
When it comes to killing terrorist leaders overseas, it's a lot smarter to use our advantage and attack them with drones, rather than try to fight on the enemy's terms and go in with GIs on the ground. A manned ground attack won't just put American GIs at greater risk of death or kidnapping but also worsen the odds of innocent local civilians getting caught in the the crossfire between our forces and the terrorists. |

"I have drones, and I label you a terrorist." *Boom* "Hey, where was your evidence that they were terrorists?" "I don't need any evidence." "But only tyrants kill their own citizens without evidence or transparency." "Yeah." Joe Biden says Buy a Shotgun! Wackiness ensues! [youtu.be]

Rand doin an old fashioned filibuster against the CIA nomination and yappin about drones. Oh, and so glad the typical Republicant OP does such a great job quoting out of context. Here is what Holder wrote:

Does anyone here disagree with what Cheney did when he authorized the shooting down of an American airliner? |

2) The airline posed an immediate threat, like a person trying to run over a cop with a car. Standard procedure allows for killing immediate deadly threats. Drone strikes are strategic military strikes that do not address and immediate threat, but a general future threat. Say a guy is murdering people. The police cannot just shoot the shit out of the suspect if he is asleep in his home. The government argues that if said murderer is a "terrorist" they absolutely can kill him asleep in his home. If I appear to be ignoring your posts, it's probably because you are on my ignore list.
