currently on EPP website the 60ST60 is 1445$ and the 55ST60 is 1275$ (FS+Tax)

I'm glad I pulled the trigger when it was $1699 at Adorama. Tax is what kills amazon for me nowadays.

Why not just go for the best and buy the VT50?

It's a far, far better TV for just a little more money.

They don't offer a 60" version of the VT in the U.S. It is nearly $800 more for that 65" model. I agree a better TV, but not for a 45% higher cost.

Also, there is no proof that the ST60 is a better model. Why would Panasonic sell a TV with the apparently same or better specs than the GT50 for an MSRP of $800 less? Something must be sacrificed. One of the issues I saw was far less shades of gradation, which makes me wonder if it is indeed the same panel as most people are mentioning on the forums.

Which model are you looking for? I haven't seen many things from Sony worthwhile to get excited about.

Have you thought about Panasonic Plasmas? I picked up a P65VT50 and it is a night and day difference in picture quality versus my old full array LED TV.

Just curious, what's the difference between this and the P60U50? I know this has anti-glare, 3D, and more calibration settings. Anything else?

Thanks, I should've known that. Reason I asked is because this TV is about 1K more, for a feature set that still appears to use the same panel, for those only concerned with best PQ for the buck.

If plasma will work for you and lighting is not an Issue the Samsung PN60E6500 seems to fit your budget and meets your size requirements and I think it comes with 3d glasses. I was considering this tv vs the more expensive Panasonic GT Series. I ended up going with the Panasonic GT Series. I haven't really done alot of research in Led TVS, but Panasonic LED TVS seems to be pretty popular among slick-dealers with there nice IPS panels and sleek design, plus there pricing is cheaper then some of there plasma alternatives. Whatever you choose, Try to check out the TV in person also check out cnet TV section nice jump start to your TV HUNT. Hope I was helpful.
