I didn't know people purchased beats if they cared about audio quality... Beats are fashion cans really not audio quality cans.
why can't things both look and perform well? If AT or sennheiser made beats headphone, that would have been awesome. These AT arn't exactly headphones I'd want to be seen wearing outside my house. Same with computers. Why can't they make a PC as good looking as a macbook without explicitly copying them, and even after they copy them (HP), they still put all those crappy stickers on the computer.

If you already realize what's gonna happen then you should just save your money for one of the flagship headphones. Then you will never need another pair. I realized this right after getting to my 2nd pair of headphones. 1st it was the ATH-A700, then the Denon AH-D2000, and my final pair, after much reading of online reviews is the Audeze LCD-2. Granted I'm still paying for it, but I don't have a reason to look for better headphones anymore.
I understand your thoughts and plenty of people probably feel the same, you went straight up to flagship/summit fi material pretty quickly.
but at the same time, it's an enjoyable hobby and some people would rather take it slow and enjoy it. I know I'll keep buying better headphones, but I"m in no rush.Wink

Hey! Interesting discussion on jumping straight to the flagship product. I think that after a certain point, I'll see diminishing marginal returns and probably stop my pursuit. From a $150 pair of headphones to a $500+ pair, I think that my personal knowledge of music and sound will not justify making a further jump Smilie.

Yep, that's something alot of head fiers worry about "the point of diminishing returns." and some argue it really is overblown.

But,

I'm just going to continue to enjoy entry level/mid fi before i get to the hi-fi/summit fi area.

Headphones all have their own sound signature too. so at least It can sound different too even if it's not an upgrade.

That's 2-3 business days. I was able to cancel my order today and reorder with the v.me code which brings it down lower.

Things can both look good and perform well. There are options out there that are fashionable and deliver mid to arguably borderline hi-fi sound.

Beats just aren't one of them however. Not saying you, but for those who claim "Beats are money shot of sound excellence" have clearly never A/B them side by side with a quality head set. If they still claim so afterwards, it's clearly just placebo and tainted by exposure to marketing and the resulted biases.

To give Monster credit, Beats are however one of the greatest marketing successes of their time and of all audio-related products in general. AT and Senn's do make pretty fashionable, great looking head sets, but they don't nearly have the marketing geniuses/department size and capital that Monster has to work with. And if one considers the market dominance that Monster has now, it's unlikely to change, as the general consumer's mind thought already strongly naturally associates Beats to "high end audio headphones" (think "mp3" = iPod in most people's minds or tissue = "kleenex" etc.)

Hey guys. Hope this is helpful to anyone who is on the fence or still waiting. I just got mine as an upgrade from the M50s. I find these extremely enjoyable. I have big head and find these to be quite comfortable. The M50s have a sound that very studio monitor-ish...very accurate, neutral, and dull. The A900X seems to have a larger soundstage, has greater details (I immediately noticed some additional background sounds), and has more of a warm and airy character. I REALLY dig these. Thanks slickdeals Smilie.

I bought these when my 595s died. Sound is amazing and I can no longer hear my wife yelling at me to do chores while i play games and listen to music
LOL, so funny to be a part of the married men men playing video games. There's something so right and so wrong about it at the same time.

Most people in this thread should have theirs by now. What do you think?
I bought them to replace my Audio-Technica ATH-M50's.

After a month of ownership, I love them. The sound is amazing, bass is strong and well balanced. Only con is that they are not quite as comfortable or isolating as the M-50s, but the difference is marginal. If you already own the M-50's, there is no real reason to upgrade, but I'm happy with them.
