Deal Details

I just started getting into pocket knives, and I've been buying them like crazy so here are some deals that I would like to share. Note: This is a spinoff of the recent 2x Kershaw Cryo thread

Right now, Amazon.com is having a huge knife sale. At the same time, they are having a promotion on Kershaw Knives until March 25: Save $10 on your $50 Kershaw Knife Purchase. There is huge savings to be made here on some good finds. Prices are changing constantly and the deal only applies to items sold by Amazon.com. Make separate orders because the deal does not appear to stack and is only applied once per $50+ order. All Kershaw Knives on Sale [amazon.com]

See wiki for specific deals.

Prices are going up and down all the time, and these are only a few of the knives that I found and were interesting to me. If you find a better deal, post it!

It's a step in the right direction, but blade length allowed is only 6 cm (2.36"). And when did the government start giving measurements in metric units?

decided on this: http://kershawguy.com/products-pa...imited-ed/

Been looking for a nice knife for a while, this one is made in the USA, not china, so that was a big selling point for me.

thanks for helping me spend more money! Big Grin

I have that one. I love it. Razor sharp, very smooth. Plus the box had an American flag on it. Just like freedom fries just taste better from a bag with an American flag on it, my knife just feels that much better. Big Grin

So where are the 6cm knives at... so I can protect myself from the crazy shits that get on planes with their own 6cm knives? I don't understand why they are suddenly allowing knives on planes....

I'm a big fan of Cold Steel for the money. Benchmade and SOG are great too, if you spend a bit more. I won't even mention the higher end stuff, given your budget. Good luck!
Thank you very much!

I believe that the revised rule for knives on planes is very much limited to blade width less than .5 inch and length of 2.36 or less, and NON locking blade.

If you are new to knives, you should start with one and see how you like how the knife fits in your hand/pocket, holds an edge, and ease of sharpening.

I have a few very high quality knives that i rarely use because they are so difficult to sharpen in the field.

who needs a knife when you can bring in baseball bat scabbard for your sword or a sword fashioned to look like golf clubs. as long as you don't wear a towel on your head you're good to go.

Here is a great classy pocket knife made in Germany with a Solingen steel blade:http://www.amazon.com/Boker-Class...er+classic
It is unobtrusive in the pocket and should be OK with the proposed airline carry-on rules.

I am looking for a folding knife for my husband's birthday, this knife will be carried everyday and used for everything and I want to spend $60.00 or less if possible but I would like it to last for awhile. Any recommendations? Thanks
I really like the Kershaw Baby Boa, but unfortunately Amazon is currently carrying it for this promotion.

the kershaw leek is a great knife to keep in the pocket, hardly noticeable, but a good size for everyday tasks and very decent steel.

pocket knives can't have molded handles or 1/2" wide blades for carry on, so this wouldn't qualify.

Any of those made in the USA? I don't get Kershaw knives made in China. You can feel a huge difference in the quality of them.
I'm pretty sure that all of the knives in the original post are Made in the USA. All of the knives in the original post are also the higher end model of the particular style and are made with the highest quality Sandvik or S30V steel with a G-10 material handle when available.

If you don't care about getting the higher end models, you might be interested that you can get:

2 Ken Onion Designed Kershaw Leeks [amazon.com] that still have Sandvik steel for $64.76.

2 Black Clashes [amazon.com] with 8Cr13MoV Chinese made steel for $40

2 Black Volt II with Serrated Edge [amazon.com] with 8Cr13MoV Chinese made steel for $44.08

2 Ken Onion Designed Scallions [amazon.com] for $45.40 with 420HC Steel (Made in USA)

Personally, I don't think you can beat $45 for a brand new Kershaw Blur anywhere.

I got the tanto Blur blem from the kershawguy for $29 and love it. I saw the Blur with S30V steel for $63, one of the cheapest priced knives with that steel. I put it in my shopping cart so I could hit the save it for later button, when up popped a $50 off with Amazon Visa. Usually it's $10 off, so I jumped on it and got it for $12.99 with free next day air (discover card). Now I own my first S30V knife. It's no ZT0550, then again it was not $200 either. ELMAX, your next! Thanks OP.
Loving my tanto blur for $29 also, can't find any 'blemish' anywhere on it.

Yea I saw that most of those are USA blades. I'm really tempted to add another to my collection.

Managed to get this one a while back for $35 shipped back in 2011. It's soooo smooth and still razor sharp.
