Didn't get in on this deal, but wanted to chime in on these. I bought a 3 pack of these (not sure if it was from a slickdeal), but they've been working great for the past month. They turn on automatically when I'm just nearing the areas they are in, which is a good thing, so I don't have to pantomime like a monkey right in front of it (in the dark) to get it to turn on. They do take 3 D cell batteries, but I've been using (2x) AA to D adapters (like these http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-Pcs-New...2a1e83262f) and just use cheap AAs. Some reviews for the 3 pack have been stating a good chance of 1 of the 3 being defective so the QC seems to be poor.

Yes, 1 OR 2 screws can be used depending on what holes you use to mount it.

I wonder how long they will last. (w/ AA battery)

I have 5 or 6 around my house and they all work great. Range in one of them gets to 30 feet. Running for 3-4 months and didn't have to replace batteries yet. Would definitely buy again or recommend to a friend.

Mine last about 1 month using high capacity rechargeable AA batteries. My dog sets the light off at least once per day in the backyard. Plus, we have stray target practice's (cats) running through the backyard too. Makes it nice to take a better shot.

I did the Mr. Beams deal posted last week. IIRC, someone in that thread said that they used D cell batts, and its been over a year with no batt change. Tho my lights havent arrived yet I purchased the D cell, as I plan on submitting Duracell Gift Card Rebate exp 3/31/13 [officezilla.com] to help subsidize the cost.

These lights are sensitive to the battery brand. Some brand have a flat + pin like the Rayovacs. Some have a somewhat plump or "fat" + pin like the Energizer. Those work better as they give the battery cover a tighter seal. I bought the 4 pack Mr Beams on white before at amazon. Only 1 worked out of the box. Was really frustrated as I waited a long time for them. In fairness though, I give the company 5 stars for their great customer service. Sent me 3 replacements right away which also didn't work until I noticed the difference in the batteries. Of the 3 they sent, 2 finally worked fine and I had to throw away 1 because no matter what I did it didn't work. And yes, they were all brand spanking new batteries.

Just be aware that these are 120 Lumens so don't expect to light up your basketball court at night.

For comparison, a 60 watt bulb is about 800 lumens.

That is true, but it is a LOT brighter than a 4D mag light (non led). You can clearly see what you need to see when it's dark.
