I preference in style leans towards over sized watch. I have a few that are 47 and 50. Huge I know, but it's just my own personal style. To each their own.

I have a lot of watches (including Invictas) and have replaced movements in some of them. I've concluded that most quartz movements found in most watches are in the $10 to $20 range. (You can easily find watch parts suppliers on the net and see that this is true.) Two quartz watches with considerably different prices might very well have the same "innards." Movements without day/date are slightly less expensive than movements with date only which are slightly less expensive than movements with day/date. I don't think Invicta quartz is any worse (or better) than other brands although you may or may not like the aesthetics of them. These comments DO NOT apply to automatics.

I've had tons of watches and there nothing wrong with Invicta, the "Watch Elitist" love to bash Invicta's, pretty much the only watch company that makes such a wide range of watches, so for some reason this raises the ire of the watch Police.

The watch I use as a daily beater is an Invicta Reserve watch. It's also the watch I've gotten the most compliments on.

Have to disagree, owned a Sub Aqua Noma III and had the "flame fusion" crystal chip within a few weeks, chrono also wouldn't reset back to 0. Didn't want to go through repairs with them due to all the nightmares I had heard with Invicta customer service. Paid a hefty $350 for it off invictashark thinking I was getting a "great deal" since it was MSRP of $2k (I know, I was young and stupid). Invicta is NOTORIOUS for jacking their MSRP's up to ridiculous levels so suckers will think that getting 88% off is a great deal. Can't say I was that bummed when it got stolen a few months later.

Then I bought the 8926C (the automatic rolex submariner knockoff) since I wanted a beater watch. It is a solid feeling watch for the price, but the movement was garbage. Constantly losing 5 minutes every few days so it became pretty useless for telling time. Pretty watch, average person may mistake it for a Rolex, but as a timekeeping device it's not that good.

I own nearly 20 watches from various makers and I can tell you that Invicta watches are generally a good value for the $$$. My every day beater is an Ocean Ghost 2309 (2309) with a Myota (Citizen) automatic movement. It keeps good time, takes an ass kicking and still looks great after nearly 2 years of use. Possibly the best $60-$70 I've spent on a watch. I also own a swiss made Subaqua Noma III (6043) and it's a beautiful timepiece. I get compliments all the time. Although it's currently $230, it would easily sell for 2-3 times that if it had a "better" name such as Oris or Tissot on the dial.

Invicta is a good brand. The best advise i can give to you is don't believe everything you read here. Amazon reviews are you best bet. When you see a thread crapper around these deals, there is a big posibility that he/she is a wholesalers or ebay junkie, don't pay attention to them.

I just read an article about Invicta, their entire business model is to trick people into thinking they are expensive watches by putting a ridiculous "list price" and listing their watches 50-90% off. Pretty smart, as if they listed these for $55 (but on sale for $45) no one would consider this a good deal. That being said you'll never see this watch over $55...ever. So guess what the REAL list price is

My Sub Aqua Noma III has been an excellent watch, I only wear it 2-10 times a month but it still looks great after 3 years or so.

My lightly worn Orient Orange Mako, on the other hand, looks terrible. It scratches way too easily on both the body and the crystal. Pretty disappointed in it actually.

I have the 8926...good watch for under$100. I bought an Orient...looked good but what a piece of shit. The crown jammed/ froze after about a year. Useless. I just bought two Immersion Raptors. Rock solid but too soon to tell. They are quartz movements but seem better fit and finish than any similar Invictas.

Got it for $40 in Dec. I know it's not the best quality watch in the world, but I liked the style and price. And for $40, if it breaks, I'll toss it and buy something else.
