Valentine 1 currently has their newest radar detector for $399 plus shipping. That's the lowest I've ever seen this radar for. Usually, it costs $499 plus shipping. Even if you search in eBay right now, you'll find most of these units going for above $400+. Buy directly from the manufacturer. Includes: windshield mount; visor mount; lighter adapter; power cord, coiled (2 ft. stretches to 8 ft.); power cord, straight (8 ft.); direct-wire power adapter; wiring-harness connector; owner's manual; spare suction cups; spare fuse. 30-day Money-Back Guarantee.

It's been at $400 for at least 3-4 weeks that I'm aware of. http://www.radardetectr.net/2013/...rice-list/ tracks the price and hasn't changed in a while

This detector has been $399 + tax and shipping for well over 10 years, my man. I've owned 3 of them, and my father has owned 2 of them. Price has never changed, even when POP protection was added or the model was made smaller.

Always $399 and if you are willing to settle for the 30 day return models. They will typically recalibrate, update software and use a new casing. Sometime when you order the 30 day return models if they do not have it in stock they will ship out brand new items. 30 day returns come with 10% off and still have all new accessories and 1 yr warranty. I picked up the Grand touring kit which comes with valentine 1 and savvy kit for $409 and a concealed display for $35. Here is my stealth install using savvy for hardwire and concealed display.

LOVED my V! until I got the Escort with GPS and "lockout" function. Loved the arrows and the protection was great on the highway, but it would false everywere in town. Once my 9500 learned the problem areas my Escort only goes off when it need to. I do miss my arrows on my V1 though...

9500i is based off the old M4 design and it is very weak in design compared to the escort redline and valentine 1. The escort redline has amazing sensitivity and will pick up a signal around bends (off axis) and 2+ miles away. The valentine is very close in performance to the escort redline. The 9500i does not have as much range or the instant on sensitivity of the redline or valentine. The only escort radar I would recommend is redline. I would hands down pick up a valentine for overall pick.

what does the PBA badge do for you in the 49 other states when you travel. The NYC card is a legit way of buying your way out of police enforcement.

I love the Savvy since it made the install extremely easy and quick. The benefit of not having your radar go off when you are driving less than 20mph is amazing. I no longer have the valentine going bonkers in parking lots.

Great radar detector. I have this and the escort 9500ix. My 9500ix generally gets more use around town, but whenever I go on roadtrips I normally switch over to the valentine.

Your stealth install is not very stealth now that you've shared it with the Internet shake head

What's the current version now? I have a 1.8 from several years back

I agree. I love the lockout GPS function on the 9500i. I think the Escort 9500i is definitely a solid contender for a windshield detector.

People always tout the Valentine One like it's the ultimate detector, but the Escorts are right up there too. I don't really care if my detector gives me a 10 mile warning for a pig, as long as it gives me ample warning to slow down (which the Escort does).

Eventually I'd like to upgrade to a model the Redline, but I'm waiting for them to come out with a Blue Display edition. I'm not a fan of the RED.

Also... didn't Valentine's patent on the arrow direction system expire? Why hasn't Escort made a model with that functionality yet?

Instead of having those stupid status lights on the bottom of the Redline, they could have made it a little thicker and put in arrows.

I think the 9500ix is back up to where the Redline is now. I'm sticking with the V1, wife is going to get a 9500ix.

Anyone in here gone all the way and gotten laser jammers as well? Wink
