Is a used Samsung Galaxy S 1 worth more than $50?
Staples - in their weekly ad - currently has a 'deal' for the Galaxy S 3 for $99 (w/ 2 year contract to Tmobile) and in addition:"Receive $50 off instantly on a Samsung Galaxy S® III when you trade in any working smartphone." I have the Galaxy S 1 and want to upgrade but wondering if my used phone is worth more than $50?? |

There were multiple Galaxy S devices...it is Verizon? So the Samsung Galaxy S Fascinate?
There was also the Galaxy S Captivate on AT&T and Epic on Spring and Vibrant on TMo. ----searching------ WHAT THE WHAT??? There were only 100 that sold for more than $90 on eBay. I am surprised by that. Amazon is giving $37 right now. $50 is not bad. You might get $75 after fees through eBay...if you don't mind the hassle.

If your not switching carriers and you have an old device thats not worth much I always like to keep mine. Just encase I drop or loose a phone I have one to use for a few days until my ebay replacement arrives.
Vague questions receive vague answers . . . . . .

Sell your phone on ebay for whatever you can get. Then buy a piece of junk phone on ebay like http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTOROLA-DROID-a855-WORKS-BUT-HAS-BAD-EAR-SPEAKER-CLEAN-ESN-FOR-PARTS-/290865527627?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item43b8efbb4b]this one [ebay.com] for $15. Trade in the piece of junk, and enjoy your new phone.
Note, though, that the S4 is expected to come out soon (mid-april at the latest, but probably sometime early April). This will drop S3 prices even more, or.. you get a much better phone if you want the latest and greatest. Up to you though. Hope that helps .

Post it on cl for 80 or sell on eBay and net 80 after fees. The phone got and still has good support and is great for a basic/entry level smartphone user. This is also the reason why other phones have their phone support dropped because the average user doesn't need the latest phone. But now many companies will drop their software support 6-9 months in your 2 year contract. Best bet is to pick up an s2 or 3 when the s4 debuts in a week. The prices will tank on the older phones. Then get on a prepaid service

Upgraded to Galaxy SIII and held onto my iphone 3Gs... but my iphone 3Gs recently exploded (or at least that's what it looks like - the back of it bubbled out and the screen is popped out of the frame, can snap it back together but it just pops apart again). I was actually looking for another one because the size and shape are perfect for some situations and uses... plus haven't put my music on the Galaxy yet so the iPhone wernt into the suitcase on vacation. |
