Refurb warranty is short, around 90-days. You only get the 1-time replacement lifetime warranty if you purchase brand new. But for this price you can just buy 2 refurbs. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 03-06-2013 at 10:46 PM.. |

Yea I assure you you're dead wrong that these suck. These are not worthless beats by dre crap. They are among 3 or 4 of decent IEM's Monster makes. Everything else Monster shells out are crap like the person pointed out. These however are pure joy and at this price is a complete steal.

! possible - monster discontinues MD line ?! like happened w/tributes / glad I got a pair! phones are great and imho well worth the price !

What you're saying now vs before just doesn't add up. You've owned monster IEMs, but you don't know if they were good? Monster's HDMI, component, etc. cables are an entirely different matter--they fleece gullible customers with questionable high-end cables. Their audio equipment and peripheral product lines are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT in that regard. No one here will care if you got ripped off on a $50 hdmi cable. Monster IEMs are actually worth what's being charged. There are many hundreds of reviews out there for people willing to educate themselves on the matter. The real question here is whether they've been "marked" (ie George Costanza red-flagged). The one time I sent my turbines in, they didn't ask for my receipt, though they did ask where it was purchased from. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 03-06-2013 at 11:27 PM.. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

hahahaha...i love the way you're desperately (or atleast it looks like it from my seat here) trying to separate the audio accessories line...i owned the turbines...they were good...but not for the price i paid...i tested a couple other IEMs at around 100 and found them to be more neutral with just a hint of emphasis on bass...this was more acceptable to my musical taste since it is VERY eclectic ranging from classical and folk to hip hop and electronic...compare this to the bassy and relatively muddier mids... anyways thats not what changed my mind...it was the beats...i didnt buy it, but I can still remember the state of shock I was in when i first tried them on...mind you i was only a fledgling audiophile back then and hadn't auditioned very many of these devices but i was appalled nonetheless...and then i also had a bad experience with their speaker wire...nothing bad but nothing good to demand the extra price either...didnt find any difference between them and blue jeans and monoprice cables... |

Really not sure what you're saying in that second paragraph--I'm assuming you compared them to Beats headphones. The original Turbines are pretty good--they're nothing amazing for $100. They're regularly $50 when refurbed (note, not available through the outlet atm), so that's on you for paying $100... For their market price, they're very good. When you get in on the Copper/Gold refurb deals for $100/$150, you're getting a phenomenal value. Really hope you were using an amp for your comparisons, because it makes a big difference, especially with good headphones. I can't use my Coppers without it ![]() I've used my 3 pair regularly for several years now, and never experienced any fraying/splitting of the wires. The original Turbines don't get much use now--they're garbage by comparison with the Coppers. Last edited by MOkoFOko; 03-06-2013 at 11:32 PM.. |

http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/m...4-13-p-641 Look at 1C16 , that is the product u are bashing on, the reviewer put 8/10 value when it was $270, so at $150 it is even more value. |

If you click through to ask the seller a question about the item details, you're presented with a short FAQ, and one of the questions/answers is:

Indeed they do, the bastards. I need to save constantly here for when I visit head fi. Anyway anyone considering a very nice IEM jump on this you can always resell them for little to no loss and for first time hear what a truly quality IEM can sound like.
You start by first hearing quality in a pair of IEM's. Then with some experience on what you're hearing you can then decide like jinxdeep if a certain sound signature is right for you . But you have to start someone and at this price is a damn nice place to start. Yea and these aren't refurbs, they are dented packages not refurbs or so I assume from the thread.
