Hard to find. Called a few Staples that listed as Low Stock Clearance Item. Most of them said there was one left and it was a damage/return. A couple said they had display models and luckily one of the two said display model was available for sale and I drove over to get it. Got an extra 10% off but all the stuff was there (total discount $125). So it will be around $224 after the $100 trade in.

Anyone have experience with display model?
I got the last one from store in Morgan Hill,CA. They have asked me to comeback so they can wipe off all information, box and give it to me. Manager only gave 5% discount for display model. Should I ask for 10%? Any thoughts? My only worry was its a display model......manager said it has same warranty as new lappy, still thinking whether to keep it or return it. Total including tax came out to be $385. Hoping for $100 rebate for my working netbook. $285 for this one is not bad at all |

For me the manager told me that will restore everything to factory setting. you shouldn't pay a dime for recovery. Not that I know of! Only dilemma is that its a display unit. |

This laptop comes with 1-year accidental damage protection from Asus, so I didn't appreciate them trying to sell me that, either. |

Just got this laptop and it seems really cheap...the touchpad is horrible, and frequently interferes with typing. Any one else have feedback on the quality of this laptop?

Thanks OP, I purchased on the 7th first store I tried had it in stock.... I have been looking at this laptop for my wife since it first appeared on this site. Deal is perfect for me as I had an old HP netbook (13 years old) just collecting dust in the closet... I timed the battery today on my trade in 36 min 10 sec until it powered down for low battery otherwise works great hope I get that $100 gift card.

Austin, TX has a few in different stores, but they are all stating they are damaged and returned items and they cannot sell them. One store has six and they say they are *all* damaged or returned by customers... how can one store have six unless the employees are holding onto them? I called their President Complaint department to see if they would call and they gave me the same story after being on hold while they called the store.

So far i LOVE this laptop. Small, lightweight, good construction, fast, and touchscreen to boot! Can't find a better laptop with this hardware spec and touchscreen new for $400 OTD. This is replacing my tablet indefinitely now that I not only have a bigger touchscreen, but I can do all of my work on this laptop without compromises! |

It can be ordered online now with this warning and $75 coupon can not be added.
Order can be placed without the coupon, but you can call tomorrow and have the coupon applied. This may complicate the Trade-In Rebate though. Most stores are OOS with only displays and defective units left that can not be sold. Staples is updating its web site and it should be available normally by 7AM: Delivery Time Has Changed Important Note: We were unable to check our inventory at this time and cannot confirm that all your items are available. Product availability and expected delivery dates will be on your order confirmation email. To place your order, use the "Submit Order" button at the end of this page. If you do not wish to continue with this order at this time, please click here to continue shopping. For more information, please call 1-800-3-STAPLE or email us at support@orders.staples.com. |

I have been messing around with the laptop for the past hour. At $224 (excl tax), I have absolutely no complaints. Nice design, feels solid, speedy enough for basic stuff, AND a touchscreen. The display model kinda irked me a little bit, but honestly, for the price, WTH, can't beat it.
The only thing that is bugging me is wondering how long the battery life and screen life will be on this display model, given that it is basically on all the time. Time will tell. |
