Hi
I messed up my laptop trying to install OSX. It looks like my backup is not good. Can some one please create the two backups required for factory restore. I can provide a dropbox location to upload the two big files about 1g and 15G. PM me and I will provide the location or you can put at your location and provide me with the link to download. By doing this you are not sharing the windows 8 License as that is embedded in the UEFI/BIOS.
Thanks in advance and your help will be appreciated.

What process did you use? I got mine working pretty quickly, not sure if I can help, but if I can send some questions. I will see if I can generate the backup file and post it somewhere.

Anyone still interested in purchasing a X202e, Microcenter has them on sale in store Only for $449.99+tax. Not available online, must go to the store.
You can try to pricematch to Staples, if you have a Microcenter AND a Staples store near you, and then get the $100-$400 Staples trade-in. Your net cost should be around $390 including the tax on the $450.

Did you get passed the part that requires you to remove the clover windows folder ? If you did you would have the windows entry on the boot option without the USB stick icon on it?

Feel free to pm me, as to not tick off the rest of them, you can also submit the question to tonymac board, that is where I did all of mine.

Just installed the Samsung Series 7 driver for the touchpad and its MUCH better than even the series 5 driver. Here's the link if anyone is interested (credit to nathanwan.com):

The Elan touchpad driver 11.7.2.1 for the Samsung Series 5 mentioned in other posts and this driver, TouchPad_11.7.2.1, are the same version and contain the same files.

Strange, I seem to have had problems when using my thumb on left-click while scrolling. After installing this entire package, the navigation was less responsive and smoother...go figure.

Has anyone got WiDi to work with the Asus S200E and intel centrino 6235? I even added an antenna to the white port and ran it outside the laptop to test it. Still doesn't work. Bluetooth works great now with the added antenna. It works from 20ft away and I simply coil the antenna wire and taped to the top of the SSD.

I have successfully setup three pust2tv 2000 adapters to work with both win7 and win8 laptop but can not get it to work with the 6235 and the Asus S200E.

You are not the only one:

Just a thought, have you gotten the latest Intel HD Video Card drivers?

You probably know this but for those who may not: WiDi requires a notebook with BOTH an Intel HD Video card and a compatible WiFi adapter like the 6235 as described here:

http://www.intel.com/support/wire...031059.htm

The S200e has the Intel HD video and with the Intel N6235, and the latest drivers for both, it should have no issues with WiDi.

Intel has an install order here and it states "Install in the order presented. Restart the PC after each driver or software installation.":

http://www.intel.com/support/wire...031109.htm

There is a Toshiba specific software patch for WiDi to work. I hope the S200e doesn't require something similar.

More Intel info and support here:

I don't have a WiDi TV adapter so I can not try this to help.
Anyone who's done this?

Anyone who's done this?
I'll be damn, I overlooked the latest HD4000 drivers. It was not available at Intel Website. Running the utility said that I must install the driver from the manufacturer's website. I checked there and sure enough, there was one that was newer than the one I have by a month. Apparently the Asus live update did not pick up that one and running update using device manager will not pick up that one either. Installed it, reboot and sure enough, it connected this time.

So to get BT and WiDi, make sure you invest in a $4 Tyco antenna from Ebay and just coil it and tape it to the SSD. BT will work just fine and now WiDi works with the latest HD400 drivers from ASUS website.

Trust me I have all the latest drivers, installed them in order and uninstalled them in order and reinstalled them in order many many times. I have tested with slightly older firmware for both the adapter and the network card and I still did not get the right combination for this to work. So now I updated all three Push2TV adapters and like I said, all three works with the other two laptops.

It finds the WiDi adapter, it asked for security code, it added to the device and it said connecting on both the laptop and the adapter itself but the laptop would just time out and said: "unable to connect to remote display". I've tried rebooting the adapter and laptop many time. If I did not get it to work with the other two laptops then I would suspect the WiDi adapter but there is nothing wrong with them.
Here is someone who has gotten WiDi to work BUT with a x202e AND the Belkin Screencast TV adapter AND a clean install of Win8 PRO:

From your description above it sounds like a communications software issue.

Yeah I got it to work. Thanks for all your help. I thought I had the latest HD4000 drivers but I did not. The one from Intel's website do not work. The one from ASUS website does work.

Glad to help and happy you got it to work!!!

That's the VGA driver I have.
The VGA driver is crucial for WiDi.
When I got the S200e, I immediately went to the ASUS site and got all the updated drivers for ALL the devices.
Some devices do not have updated drivers but some do.
The VGA, the VIA audio, the DPTF, the SmartGesture touchpad, and some others, I think, have updates. The BIOS is also up to v.208 but it is listed under the X202e section.

I have a couple of questions for you:
Since you have the Netgear Push2TV adapter, can you watch DRM/HDPC protected content like movies, dvds, etc., or If you try to watch protected content over WiDi, do you get an error message that states, "there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card" or something similar?
Also, which model do you have, PTV3000, 2000, 1000?

I understand that the D-Link MainStage DHD-131 is advertised as having No Codec Content Protection Limitations and No DRM Issues.
The Belkin device states that: "Insert a Blu-ray disc into your laptop's disc drive, then watch it on your HDTV." which implies no DRM issues.
I haven't seen the same for the Netgear devices.

Thanks in advance.

Just tested it with original DVD and vlc media player. No issue displaying DVDs on the big screen. I think Intel took care of that digital copy protection warning. I read about it a while back but I think with 2nd gen products like the push2TV 2000, the problem is resolved or the software is now much better.

Contacting the people with the recycling program: Laptop must hold a charge for 20 minutes to get the full amount.

So, if your battery is toast like mine, you're looking at a reduced amount from the recycler.
I sent in an old Gateway laptop circa 2005... battery held a charge, and I even took a video of it working because I thought they might be asshats.. they claim:

Scratched Housing (per panel)
Defective Latch
LCD Keyboard Abrasion (Moderate)
LCD Light Spots (Moderate)

and want to give me $75 instead of the $100. If anyone has any tips on who to complain to get the full value I'm all ears, because I seriously consider everything except for the latch issue (which could've happened in traffic) "reasonable wear and tear"

I might try a BBB complaint since none of these issues were explicitly mentioned in the T&Cs as devaluation criteria.

Edit: a simple e-mail disagreeing with the value mentioning a possible BBB complaint was responded in a few hours and they met my counter offer of $90 for the trade-in, so they were reasonable... so definitely reply back with an e-mail to the help@tradeuptotouch.com if you feel your valuation was unreasonable.
